Think I just worked out why I only ever get really painfully engorged on the weekends, I have a beer with my partner in the evening on Friday and Saturday night. I just pumped to relieve and got over 5oz from one side I dont even normally get that much when I pump both!!!!

I heard its a myth too, but its the only thing I can think of that I do differently on the weekends. I dont drink through the week and bubs hasnt been feeding differently

My boyfriends grandma sweats by the beer thing. After I had brody (the day after lol) she told me to go home have a beer and my milk will come in and if I ever feel my supply is going low have a beer lol. I have yet to try it but she said she did with all 5 of her kids and her Dr recommended it lol.

Its amazing how some things seem to work even though there is no scientific reason why. I will certainly continue having my 1 beer on the weekends, if nothing else it will help my freezer stockpile lol

I don't get much milk so I have a beer sometimes and a little after my boobs hurt so bad and that only happened when I have a beer and stays like that for a while. All my family tells Me have a beer everyday helps a lot but i dont do it everyday

@samantha I had a beer around 5pm and pumped first thing the next morning but I was soooo full overnight

@steph_due_101611 im not sure. Like the others said its the yeast in the beer thst increases the supply so maybe Google other things that may be high in yeast.

@octobernewbie @roxy when I do have a beer I do it directly after a feed so it has time to go through my system before the next feed, I dont want to risk the alcohol getting to bubs. Then I usually feed every 3-4 hours. I have no idea if it will work for anyone else but either way its a good excuse to relax with a cold one
