I know my midwife told me with the paragard periods are longer and heavier. Opposed to a IUD with hormones light & short periods, she was pushing me a lot towards the Mirena and saying how some women don't even get a period which is great in her opinion but that doesn't seem normal to me -.- its concerning and I need to think quick cause my six week check up is Friday and I'm still undecided!!!
@JnetteP The downside of the bc hormones for me personally were breaking out and moodiness, I was taking Yaz bfor and although it kept my skin clear I was an emotional wreck at times lol...my bf can testify. Once I got off of it I felt a big difference in my mood.
@2BeForgotten ugh longer periods? I'm gonna have to read into it more before I make a choice, I hate having to take bc but I dont want to get preg TOO soon.
I get terribly sick and have daily migraines on any type of bc. my ob reccomended the paragaurd since it is horomone free but i read a lot of women have frequent vaginal infections while on it
I had it...I'm now pregnant lol it didn't work, it also gave me horrible cramps the 1st day or 2 of my period along with clotting. Neither of which I had before
I just got it a few days ago. I took Ibprofin an hour before and it didn't hurt much getting it in. my doctor recommended getting it while on my period. I see why now. It causes cramping and bleeding. I chose it because its hormone free. I'm Already dealing with a bad case of ppd so I didn't need anymore hormones.
