I had my son 3 months ago. I got my first shot the 21st of October and got my first period the following Monday. It lasted for like 3 weeks. Now I started to get my period again so does that mean my shot isn't working? Am I still ovulating?

    if i remember correctly it takes a couple months for your period to completely stop on depo, but i could be wrong i have never been on im sure other mamas on here can enlighten you

    I bled for 8 months straight on the shot.! Some light days some heavy days. Had to get off of it so I would stop bleeding! It sucked for me!

    With depo it completely changes your periods and they will change. With me I had the opposite effect where my period only like two to three days, but I also didn't give birth and I know when you give birth your periods take a while to regulate.

    Oh and I forgot I believe it takes a month or so for depo to truely work at first.

    Also remember average cycle is 28 days long. No matter how long the period was/is. It has been about 28 days since the Monday after october 31st

    im on the shot they mess up your period alot i got it at my 6week post op and i already had my period before that and havent gotten a period since then

    I hope I'm not pregnant or can still get pregnant because we have been doing it like crazy people since like the week I got the shot.

    You aren't supposed to have unprotected sex for a bit after you get it for risk. Its the same as taking the pill where it takes a bit to work.

    If I was pregnant would the test say negative because of my shot?

    No the shot shouldn't effect a test, but just stay calm and hold off for a week or so because your not necessarily garunteed to be preg with unprotected sex :).

    My friend got pregnant on depo and she was never late on her 'window' to get the shot

    I was on depo and as soon as I got my first shot it cut my af off within a hour. I only got 2 shots but I didn't have an af for about a year. I heard that if u still have an af while you're on birth control then you're still ovulating. Me personally, I wouldn't advise anyone to get depo especially if you ever plan on having anymore kids.
