I need advice

I was a little worried about posting this because I am mildly embarrassed. But I figured who better to ask than a group full of ladies. Well a couple of months ago I had a yeast infection. No matter what I would do it wouldn't go away. I tried a diluted bleach bath and everything. I really don't have the best insurance so going to the doctor was kinda my last resort. Yeah I know it sounds stupid. A friend of mines told me there may be home remedies to cure it. I thought it was a great idea so I looked up some things online. I came across a webpage that said that boric acid is a great cure for yeast infections. I did research on it for a couple of days. I was desperate so I decided to try it. I took a douche bottle put in the boric acid and put in the water as I was instructed. I douched with it. It burned a little but other than that it was painless. Well now I'm having an issue with dryness. I'm not sure if its a result from the boric acid or what. I keep KY in my purse so it doesn't start to hurt and as long as I keep it lubricated while me and my hubby are intimate everything is fine. It just kinda gets annoying because I have to keep applying it. I'm too embarrassed to go to a doctor. What should I do??????? Please don't judge.

    Have you tried plain yogurt? There's some good Chinese remedies you can Google. Hibicleanse maybe?

    Will that help with the dryness? Its really starting to hurt and I'm not sure how to fix it.

    Um, do you know what boric acid is? I think you may have made a colossal error. Please see your doctor as soon as possible. Go to the health department if you can't see your regular doctor.

    Don't have advice but next time u have a yeast infection if there's a dollar tree near u they have the meds for $1 my mom tried it an sed it worked for her

    I'm just too embarrassed to go. I know what it is. But when I looked it up it seem safe.

    I know. I truly am embarrassed. Im getting rather embarrassed that I shared this with you guys. I was just really desperate and the hubby was getting mad because I couldn't make it through sex because it would burn so badly.

    Are you pregnant? Post baby and breast feeding? Or ttc?? Dryness can be caused by the hormones during pregnancy and feeding, not sure about a fix but keeping your fluids up may help and maybe try an oil based lubricant rather than water might last longer... Goodluck

    Well was it really necessary to call me retarded? But I'm not pregnant or anything yet. And I've tried several lubricants. Nothing lasts. I may go to a doctor soon. I'm just scared they'll laugh and not take me serious. I realize it was a dumb decision. I think that it may have helped women before. I just had a bad reaction. Perhaps allergic.

    I just mixed the boric acid and water in a douche bottle like the website told me and douched with it... Now I'm experiencing severe dryness. The infection is gone. The dryness is just HORRIBLE.

    Did you use a boric acid suppository or did you make a solution of powder boric acid and tap water and then douche with it. What measurements did you use? I fear your improper dosage may have caused a bad reaction. But who am I? I have no medical background. Please listen to wiser people.

    I mixed it with the water I got out of my bathroom sink. I used a quart of warm water. The website said to use a tbsp of boric acid but I used 2 because I was hoping it would go away faster.

    I think someone needs to be banned from pregly. We are trying to get this site on " better terms" . But there's always going to be one in the crowd that ruins it. @mturner just ignore ignore ignore.
