New father, to be.

edited December 2011 in Pregnant
Hi ladies. My wife is 5 weeks pregnant with our first child. We have been married for 6 months now and we are both super excited.
But I must admit, I am a little afraid of what the next 8 months hold for us. Will she be a monster preggie from the hormone changes? Will she gain lots of weight? And I also worry about miscarrige and birth defects.
Am I crazy?

  • Congrats!(: that's super exciting! And yes, every woman is different. But PLEASEEEEE if she is a psycho preggo lady, don't take what she says personally. I doubt she means it. I know I'm a bitch a majority of the time.. but it happens. Lol just be nice and do what you can to help her out. And remind her that she's sexy and you still are attracted to her and love her.
  • Congrats. So cool to see daddy's on here. As everyone has said every women is different. Just be there for her emotionally physically and mentally. You are her biggest support system!! Just help her through things!
  • Be patient and don't stress over anything and be her biggest support! :)
  • Telling her that she is sexy is not a problem, that she truly is. I think my biggest obstacle will be trying to not carry a grudge when she goes mental. Just got to keep telling myself that it's the hormones talking.lol
  • I know I could be very hormonal at times!! My husband is so forgiving of my emotions. Welcome to pregly!!!!
  • And be ready for middle of the night craving runs! :)
  • Congratulations! And you are a typical new daddy lol just be there for her when she has her moments that's all you can do :)
  • Pregnant women do no wrong& when they are that's okay...lol they are allowed to be...remember that and you will be golden
  • Cool, thanks for the advice. Glad I found this app.
Not too bad right now, she is sound asleep by 8pm. Lol
  • First ultrasound next Thursday. Sooooo looking forward to this.
  • Awwh yay! Wait till you hear that little heart beat. It'll be the most beautiful sound you've ever heard and life will make a little more sense :)
  • Dr. couldn't find a heartbeat, she believes we have miscarried. They took blood and we should know something Tuesday. So unreal.
  • Sorry to hear. :( hopefully everything is ok.
  • Thinking of you. (( Hugs))
  • How far along was she? :( So sorry!
  • Well, we have gone through the miscarriage and are healing. Hope to start trying again soon.
All my best to the group, talk to you soon.
  • You guys will beg pregnant for another 9 months. If her hormones get the best of her, smile and be calm. When she gains weight, tell her she's glowing. And no matter what the outcome, love eachother and the baby.
  • Awe I'm so sorry to hear this. Hang in there and grieve! Your time will come!!!
