How to make a small space seem larger! Tip #2

edited December 2011 in Just for Fun
Design Tip: Mirrors can make your room look larger. Use a focal point and angle your mirrors towards it, which will give the illusion of depth. The mirrors also reflect both natural and artificial light to make a room brighter during the day and night. :) Good luck to everyone testing tomorrow morning!! Christmas baby dust********

  • That is Beautiful. Great tip. Ill keep that in mind. Is that your house?
  • No, not my house, a client's house though! I did this redesign 2 years ago. :)
  • Bump. I posted last night but thought I'd share again because of all the extra drama last night. MERRY Christmas!!!!
  • Any tips for siblings that share a space?
  • Yup! Choose one color palate and let them decided what they like on the walls. Furniture .... items you buy just have to stay within that color palate. It works well with kids of opposite gender or a big difference in age. :) hope that helps! Do you have a more specific question?
  • Nope. Your awesome. Thanx
  • Sweet, we have our own room designer now. Do you have any tips on how to baby/toddler proof a home without losing style or breaking your budget. I'm sure that will be helpful to a lot of mommies here. :)
  • The Munchkin Numi line of baby gates are rather sleek and sophisticated looking. They are also very easy to put together! They do however run about $140. Munchkin also makes the Decor line of gates that are similar. They run about $70. Any good baby gate isn't going to be cheap. If you already have a real wood gate, just vamp it up with a new stain color. Wood stain costs about $10. Use an old but clean cotton T-shirt to apply your stain. Stores like IKEA also sell caddies that help hide cords that may dangle from electrical outlets, they're around $8.
  • * Deco not Decor line
  • Photobucket Numi gate. It comes in a choice of finishes.
