baby poop

For the past week she's only been popping once a day which I don't think is normal my mom told me to give her an ounce of water a day but I ain't feel comfortable doing it with out talking to her pediatrician first she has her 2 month appointment next week so in the mean time does anyone know wat might be wrong with her?

    My son was doing that for a while and the advice nurse told me it was normal. She also said they can go up to 3 days with out pooping before you need to worry but as long as they have one bowl movement a day you're good.

    IIt does suck though because that one poop a day is usually an explosion lol!

    Do you bf or formula feed? I think once a day is fine. Sometimes with bf its less because breastmilk is used so efficiently by their little bodies. I would only worry if baby seems constipated.

    It is very normal for bf babies to go even a week and not poop :) She does not sound constipated to me at all. I breastfeed my 1 month old and she only goes about once a day. My son who is now 2 when he got a little older would go several days and jo poop. Your ped will tell you it is normal :)

    I think she's doing great! Like I said, breastmilk is used very effectively so sometimes they go much less than once a day. I really don't think you need to worry at all. I wouldn't give her water. Double check at her appointment too, but i'm sure she is fine.

    Once a day at that age is normal. I have a 2 month old and she goes every other day. I breastfeed. As long as she isn't really fussy ur fine. :)

    Bf babies normal! :) mine goes every other day and she's 2 months. Its explosive by then lol

    Mines is constipated he wakes up screaming and barely wants to sit down today when he went it was two lightly blooded balls he is formula fed he turned two mths yesterday can someone help

    @Loving_Life I would make sure you talk to the doctor. I've had constipation issues with my son and the doctor finally gave him a perscription for it (he's two now). I would also try some different formulas.

    This is the third different formulas @Momof4gregory but I'm definitely going to the dr in the morning

    Once a day is perfect for bf. My daughter is bf and she only poops once a week. But its perfectly normal for her. Not constipated or anything. She's perfectly healthy.

    @Loving_Life How many weeks did you wait before switching formulas? Switching too quickly can cause constipation.

    My baby grunts and tries for two days and goes on the third. We are on Nutramigen and his doctor said if it gets to three days then do diluted prune juice.
    It does work but he still has a hard time, once he goes its hard marbles then explosion a few hours later. It's like he needs to pass that plug first.
