Induction :/

edited December 2011 in Pregnant
Went to the doctor on Wed, 3 days from my due date and I am not even 1 cm dilated and my uterus is still in the posterior position so my new years baby has been scheduled for Jan 4 th and with me due to report at 7am :/. My doctor doesn't allow his patients to go to 42 weeks and he is off duty next weekend and I don't want to chance going into labor when he was off. Out of boredom I been reading things that bring on labor so I had my bf sucking on my nipples as it is supposed to release oxytocin (sorry tmi). He wasn't into it so I decided to learn how to use my electric breast pump instead. Hey don't judge me, I did say I was bored :p

  • Good!!! Have sex, fast walk, hot bath, more nipple stimulation...and repeat. My husband is forewarned what were doing when I turn two days shy of 37 weeks lol...I'm being induced for complications at 38 weeks and I wanna go through labor myself. I hope it works!!! Keep us updated
  • personally only cause ive been induced id rather go into labour wih diffwrent dr after 42 weeks i went 40weeks 5 days it sucked but bub was nice. healthy quick labour no tearing my induced baby was big n hrslthy but bad tearing. involuntary pushing
  • n not great eiither which way your baby will come all the best xx
  • @bummy87 how and why did they induce you? My doctor was saying if I am the same as my last visit then he will do the balloon method in my cervix with petocin.

@cristinalynn I am a new yorker with a dog so I definitely walk. As far as sex this fool doesn't want to "hurt" his "emmy" and has been all scared since I got big so that's out of the question. And hot showers I do every night bc I can never have water any other way (the other day I set off the fire alarm when I opened the door from all the steam). Either way nothing, zilch, nada. I heard of pineapples and all other stuff. Anything else in your arsenal that you can help me with. I am 50/50 on it happening naturally and induction. I just am like whatever at this point.

@ta2edblondie, I had an app for my period and was on bc the month before. Period came like clockwork. I got off bc to switch to a different bc of side effects and he knew I was ovulating and got me the exact day. I know it was that day bc I was avoiding sex that whole time bc I wasn't trying to come down this road. I even took a plan b but God has his plan so hey. But anyhow, my app calculated my due date and doctor confirmed one day off. This child just wants to chill and be as stubborn as I was with my mother. I was two weeks late and had my mother in labor for 20 hours. That's why I am kind of like hey induction doesn't seem so bad.
  • Induction wasn't bad for me...so I have nothing bad to say about it
  • There is a high?
  • @nelsbrandon yes! Lol but if labor is augmented then alot of moms don't experience this rush of hormones.
  • I was induced due to bleeding. My sister was induced due to fetal distress wich i think is a good reason the baby had pooed in the fluid. She also had involuntary pushing and nice tearing personally i dont recommend it anyway all the best xx
  • I was induced at 39 weeks due to gestational diabetes. They did the bulb and pitocin but after 24 hours I was only 5cm and the epidural completely stopped working. I could feel the contractions about every 2 minutes but no progress. I ended up getting a csection because the baby just wasnt ready to come out. I felt like you do about your doctor not being there- but there will be another doctor if you go into labor. With me it was mostly the nurses that were around during the entire time I was there anyway. Follow your gut on what you want to do. I regret being induced but I'm just happy my baby was born healthy :) Best of luck to you.
  • Thanks @bummy87 and @michaelsmommy. My mom and aunt both were nurses for l&d (just do post partum now and women's health). My aunt is against it but my mom is excited either way so I don't think she put much thought to it. As far as my doc I really felt like God brought us together. The day after I found out I was preggers my church had a video highlighting life and the member talking was my doctor. I never thought about it until I called my regular gyn on Monday to find out he stopped the ob part that yr (then during pregnancy when I wasn't going to him anymore got a letter that he got a chief job in CT and was leaving) that I thought about my current doctor. So I went on my church website to check for the video and then to find out that his name was also my best friends name that got deported back to Jamaica and he was west Indian ad well, made me feel like I was in good hands. Did I mention that was the first time i went to church that month? So I am the type of person that usually am aware of signs but ignore them thinking o am being over analytical but I decided not to take that chance with my child. Sorry for the ramble :p
  • No problem, just follow your heart <3 hope you have a beautiful healthy baby.
