It's a girl for Beyonce and Jay-Z!

After years of pregnancy rumors and months of due date whisperings, Beyonce has finally given birth to a baby girl. E! Online reports that multiple sources have confirmed that the couple welcomed their first child Saturday night.

As for the name? E! claims new daddy Jay is telling friends it's Blue Ivy Carter, but other outlets say it's Ivy Blue Carter. (UPDATE: Friend Gwyneth Paltrow tweeted Sunday morning that the baby is named Blue Ivy Carter.)

Reps for the couple haven't given the official word on their bundle of joy, but whatever her name, this little girl already has some famous friends sending their love to her.

Rihanna tweeted,"Welcome to the world princess Carter! Love Aunty Rih." Friend Russell Simmons also offered his congratulations, tweeting,"congrats to my good friends Beyonce and Jay-Z."

According to New York Daily News, the superstar booked the fourth floor of the hospital for $1.3 million to make sure that her baby's entrance into the world was nothing short of fiercely glamorous.

Speculation that Queen B's due date was nearing was intensified right before New Year's Eve, as Beyonce's mother Tina, sister Solange and her family arrived in New York -- no doubt to welcome their newest family member.

It was even reported that Beyonce and Jay-Z welcomed a baby girl named Tiana-May Carter before the end of the year, but the rumors were put to rest after a still-pregnant Beyonce was spotted at dinner with Jay-Z on New Year's Eve in Brooklyn.

Those who were eagerly anticipating the birth of Beyonce's offspring pegged her due date to late December based on a DVD she released earlier this year, telling fans that she was six months pregnant. "Hello! It's September 23rd ... Right now I'm actually shooting the video for 'Countdown' and I'm six months pregnant, pretending that my stomach is flat in body suits," she said in her "Live at Roseland" DVD, according to the UK's Daily Mail.

This is the first child for the couple who married in April 2008, uniting two of the biggest names in hip hop. Although B's baby will not be able to comprehend the magnitude of her parents' fame for some time, this sure is one lucky tot.

  • Yay! Im genuinely happy for them!!
  • @Mimii36 Me too. Surprisingly I like the name, creative yet simple and not a sh*tty over the top name that most celebs give their babies.
I'm curious though, she had her via scheduled c-section. Maybe complications??
  • I wonder if any pacients were turned away due to "over crowding". Hopefully buying a hospital floor doesn't become a celebrity trend. I'd hate not to get medical care because someone needs privacy (which I understand) but refuses to just deliver at home.

  • Congrats go them...but I'm definitely not feeling the name.
  • Congrats but name....ehhhh

  • @rileyandme I thought it sounded like a clothing line LOL. Restaurant works well, too haha.
  • Im sure they aint the first celebrities to rent out a floor. The hospital let them do it so they are part to blame also.
  • My friends brothers nickname is blue cos he was born blue, apprently all staff had phones and cameras took of them and even security camera's were covered up, and she used a fake name
  • @samiuk I dont blame them for doing all that personally.
  • I dont blame them, either. However, the fact that they refused doctors to see other patients on the floor is really irksome. Doctors need to do their job, and just because you're uber famous doesn't mean you can keep doctors from performing necessary care within other units on said floor. Just a but extreme if you ask me.
  • I bet she had a scheduled c section so that they could do the tummy tuck b4 they closed her back up. Its the secret of the stars.
  • I think that was the problem of the hospital they could have refused the money and the delivery if the doctors were going to b annoyed or stops them from successfully completing their job
  • Well the HOSPITAL could have refused then.
  • I'm wondering if she did have a surrogate if they did all that maximum security so no one could come forth and call them out in it. I mean most people that use surrogates use their egg and sperm so it is their biological child and no one calls them out on it why shouldn't a celebrity get the same respect? So I understand in that sense if she did use a surrogate but even so there was no need to use a whole hospital floor.

Now they are saying the baby is a reincarnation of the devils daughter. Smh! I dont blame them for all the security. No telling what people may have tried to do.
  • Ladies, ladies! I gave birth at Lenox Hill here in manhattan, where Beyonce gave birth. The maternity ward is on the 6th floor. She "rented out" the 4th floor. .... i think its on the 6th floor, I dont remember.
  • BC jay z believes in the devil. U have to do research but this is old news....
  • My radio station must have got it wrong because she said they named her Ivy Blue
  • and then I noticed I totally missed a paragraph in your thread haha sorry
  • Ive heard he believes in the devil but I dont believe the devil decided to chose Beyonce to be the one to carry his "reincarnated daughter". That parts just sounds a little too far fetched for me @MrsThompson34

I don't think @mrsthompson34 said that their daughter is a reincarnation of the devil's daughter. She was just simply stating a fact.
  • I wonder will she breastfeed?

Lol, thank u @juliansmommy. @mimii36 Im not tryna argue about jay z's baby here.... But word is jay z worships the devil. Im a buddhist so iono nothing about the devils child....
  • @chicagomom55 I very much doubt it. Congrats to them anyway but renting a whole 4th floor was over extra if u ask me and I read that she chose to have a c section, no medical reason included
