i think it all just depends on the baby. are u ff or bf? my daughter was on 3 oz from a week old and is now on 7 oz at 9 weeks old and feeds every three hours throughout the day but goes longer during the night.
it definately depends on the baby, my son is 3 months now, so i cant remember for sure what he was eating at 6 weeks but i want to say it was somewhere about where yours is.. and the doctor didnt seem concerned.. he told us as long as our little one wasnt spitting it back up then he was fine, and he never spit any up.. he's 3 months now and eating 8oz every 3.5 and 4 hours cept thru the night
My LO is 4 1/2 weeks old and eats 4-5oz bottles every 4 hours, so I dont think its abnormal. I just let him lead the way when it comes to how much/how often he eats
i agree with @fate . try block feedings when you nurse- nurse 2 feedings on one side, switch and repeat. see if that helps. or, pump a tiny bit before a feeding.
@Angelmonkeymelody I am in utter shock that she eats that much. Lol. At 2 months the average infant eats 4-5 ounces every three hours. Your babe is definitely above that average. Does the rice cereal fill her enough? You've got me intrigued!!!
If ur lo is spitting up, I do think He s over eating..... My lil girly is almost 6 months and eats 4oz every 4-5 hrs. Sometimes I think she isn't getting enough. She weighed 11.8 @ her 4 month appt so she's a peanut. But I feed her as much as she wants.
My son is 10 weeks and eat between 6 to 7 oz every 2.5 to 4 hours. He is a chunky butt weighed 6.12 at birth and at his 2 month he was 11.15 lol. He also grew a full 2 inches between 1 and 2 months! Its crazy how much they grow!
