her son doesnt want to nurse today!

2 days ago he all of a sudden drank 8 oz so 4oz bm 4oz formula till she got home then he was acting like hedidnt want to eat from her & wouldnt eat a lot but wouldtake abottle yesterday he drank a little more then normal in his bottles. he isnt acting different except not wanting to nurse he will drnk bottles he is about 4 months old. plz help why would he do this?

had he ever drank from a bottle previously? Drinking from a bottle is less work maybe thats why...

how old is baby? they go thru nursing strikes in which people mistake for self weaning around 8 months or so.

no he has been drinking bottles for a while nothing really changed except he all of a sudden drank alot & acted like he didnt want to drink from her. she is really sad. @d_jsmommy

what is a nursing strike? I thought it was a growth spurt but he should want to nurse more not less

I wouldn't feed him via bottle if he won't take to breastfeeding right now. The bottle is alot easier to eat from whereas the breast requries more work! Baby could be feeling a little lazy. So wait for him to get really hungry then reccomend putting him back to breast! Good luck I hope you find something useful to help her!

its something that babies do, not wanting to nurse or only eating table foods.
i would lay off the bottles as well. try a rubber spout sippy instead

Hmm...maybe she could continue to try nursing him at every feeding before offering the bottle. Since he has been successfully nursing up until then baby could just be acting stubborn...
My daughter is almost 4 months as well and is sometimes fussy with wanting me or a bottle...

up to a couple weeks. if baby will take a sippy then yes
