There are pros and cons both ways. At the end of this its going to come down to personal preferences. Even if I did feel guilt after finding out that my son was likely in shock, I cant take it back now. Ask the average guy who doesnt have complications, if they are circ they will say it's better, if they are uncirc they will say thats better... If done when they are born its all they know and will likely love their Willy either way you choose. That being said my step son wasn't done even though his dad is, he is now 3 and having issues with it. His dad wishes he had it done as a newborn because gettin it done at age 3 is going to be mighty painful
That's what happened to my cousins kid, he was 3 when they did it and it was super traumatic for him. But it kept getting infected and it was all red and had puss it was so creepy. He's 6 now and it's ok.
I had both of my sons done because of my relationship with my God. It's a Covenant with God and I want to pass it on to my children and besides every male in my family is circumcised
@chelles Yeah! I saw the scripture that said that. My boyfriend also made that point. We are Christians I just fear the pain of the child. I guess it's a personal fear more than my opinion - does that make sense? Lol
I'm having a baby boy and he will most definately be circumsized! They won't remember it, and will probably be thankful for it when they are older! But its really up to each individual person. It'll be way more painful for a man to go get circumcised than for a baby!
My son is circumcised because my hubbs and I wanted too. About 6 Weeks after I watched a video I found on the internet some where of a little boy being circumcised and cried the whole time! The baby was like 6 months or so. It honesty looked like torture. I cried so hard watching it I think I was in another country though! My son had a little cap thing on his penis afterward but he didn't seem bothered by it.
I did it bc both my father and my fiance are not circumsized and both adv to do it. I let my fiance make the final decision bc he has gone thru life uncircumsized. MY father also made the decision when my brother was born to do it. I left it up to my fiance bc i feel he has lived thru it. I really feel like he knows what he went thru and also how it felt growing up and it was the best decision. Nothing against what anyone else decides it was just our decision.
We didn't. It took a lot of convincing to get my husband to agree. He just wanted him to be the same as everyone else, but with circumcision on the downward trend, he'll encounter more boys intact if, for some reason, everyone is looking at everyone else's wiener (lol).
My son is circumsized. I did tons of research and still decided for it. It's a personal preference and I don't believe either option is "right" or "wrong".
my son isnt and neither is hubby. here in the uk its not so popular and is mainly done for religious reasons when it is done. i personally think its needless,as long as you instill cleanliness in your children, why should that bodypart be any different? ive done lots of research on circumcision and from what ive read it minimises the sensations men can feel and sexual pleasure is really affected in later years as it kills nerves, and apparently also damages the skin so much so that the skin on the penis sometimes becomes really leathery and tough which is supposedly the bodies attempt at replacing the removed foreskin, which is there as a protective layer. i dont have personal experience of that, so dont know if its true but i wouldnt want to risk permanent damage to my sons perfect little body mainly to make it look better.
We had my son done at his first doctors appointment. My husband didn't get it done till he was 16 and said it was horrible and that he wished his mom would of done it when he was a baby.Dj said Xavier would thank us later since it was painful for Dj and as a baby Xavier won't remember it. I figured he is the one with the penis so he should make the decision we didn't have any problems and I have no regrets.
I'm wondering why people think babies don't remember the pain. In my lactation and psych classes we learned that if a baby gets cut while nursing as some docs have babies do, that some babies will refuse to nurse from then on, clearly remembering the pain and associating it with nursing. This was a study that was done. @mom2ing did you ever learn that in school? Not everyone does.
I hear an uncircumsized penis has more feeling because it has more nerves. Circumcision causes loss of those nerves. I was 17 and uneducated when i had my son and had it done. The immature side of mr thought uncircumsized penises looked gross and weren't normal or anything id wanna deal with. But if i had known then what i know now i might not have done it. I've been with both circumcised and uncircumsized men and they all work the same.
Both f my boys are mainly because daddy is. And, I am really glad my hubby is cuz um, he don't need any extra pleasure sensors, he has enough! If he had more, he wold never leave me alone lol (that was a joke ya'll) my baby was done by the midwife who delivered him the day after he was born and my oldest son had it done at 2 weeks in his peds office.
My son was just born..& I got him cut...it reminded me of a genital piercing...he cried a little..but, a little sugarwater and a pacifier...calmed him down...
Afterwards ...however, he was sore, red and cranky...but, in about 4 days..it was cool...and it looks nice...LOL
...matter'a'fact I asked the doctor to give mine a touch-up...LOL...he did such a good job!
..and my son will have the unique advantage of being called an "elephant trunk" and being circumcised....LOL

We got his done before we left the hospital!
