Graduation week is finally here...

Dom, dom, dommm...

I can't believe I made it! I had to push back graduation from Dec. to May due to PPD. It's been a monumental task, but I did it!

Now, the big question to ask is... Do I apply to nursing school like that little voice in my head keeps nagging me to. Technically, I'm done with school -- burnt out (or so I claim)!

Any nursing students wish to share their experiences? I'm a glutton for punishment and a school junkie.

  • Congrats!!!! Thats a huge accomplishment. My motivation was i could get pregnant when i graduated. Got my bfp the last month of my final semester
  • Nursing school is hard but if it is something you want go for it. I'm a single working mom and full time nursing student. I definately have my hands full but I know it will better mine and my daughter's life and that keeps me motivated.
  • Oh, I started very late, ha ha. I didn't have the luxury of waiting, although our LO was very unplanned.

    Thanks!
  • @Newmommy_11, Wow, what you are doing is admirable!!! Yes, it'll definitely improve your lives ten-fold.

I know it'll be tough. I have my sights set on L&D if I do go into nursing. It's still a thought, we shall see if anything comes of it.

    Thanks for your input!
  • What are you graduating with like what's you're degree cause where I go you don't graduate till agree you go to nursing school...I say go for it cause you're already doing it so why take another break...I mean if it's overwhelming don't do it cause you don't want to stress yourself
  • @newmomma13, I'm graduating with an MPH (Masters in Public Health) with a concentration in Maternal and Child Health from the University of Arizona.

I'm still considering it, we'll see.
  • Nursing school is not easy! I have less than two months before I graduate. I joined an accelerated program, instead of 16wk semesters, they're 5wks. I go to school mon-fri 6-4:30 twice a week and 8-4:30 three times a week. After that, I have about 2 hours or more of homework and studying. Clinicals/externships make you feel like you are the dirt beneath someone's shoe! b-(

...but I wouldn't change it for the world! You can do it if you put your mind to it! I gave birth during school AND had two surgeries and still there!
  • I was a dietitian on a oncology ward while going to school, I think I have it in me.

Thanks @captivated. Do you like it so far?
  • I like it a lot. Not wild about my school and this piss poor organization (but maybe that's just what civilian life is like?).
  • Oh ok I see well your just an overachiever lol jk...I wish you nothing but luck and for you to have strength and good support through it all

  • @jdensma, I was planning on a little break. I figure it's just as challenging as grad school, in regards to hard work and homework.

    Thanks for your input. =0)

@Bahamamama4828, Hi my name is Rocio and I'm a school junky!

    Lol.

Oh, I second the having kids and going to school. I have a newfound respect for single mothers going to school! I'm not single and it's hard.
