Vomitting & diahrria (sp?)

edited May 2012 in Babies Health
Please help, how do you tell the difference between spit up and vomitting? Madison is 7 months and has never really spit up so i think its vomitting. She also has explosive diapers (she's usually semi constipated), no fever, has not been acting like herself, eont eat very much, wont sleep more than 10 minutes, the dr's is closed for an hour and my mommy intuiton says something isnt right and hubby is freaking out.

  • And she got her ears pierced yesterday
  • Are her diapers frothy and foul smelling?
  • What do you mean by frothy? What if they are? They are very very foul @bahamamama4828

  • Mommy instinct trumps any "symptom"! Trust your instinct and take her lil butt in as soon as you can. Hope she feels better soon!
  • Started yesterday :/ @homebirthadvocate i've been worried about her soft spot for s couple days now but everyone i talk to says its fine
  • If she's throwing up, trust me, you'll know. It's generally quite a large amount, and it's forceful.

Hope she gets to feeling better soon!
  • Is she ok??
  • Idk :/ @starrxoxo9 i got ahold of a nurse and she just said half gatorade and half water?
Idk if her fussiness is a phase but she's slept maybe an hour in the past 14 hours, then last night it took me 3 hours to put her to bed and it looks like tonight is gonna be a repete :/ =((
  • Hmm I would take her to the er if I was you, just to be safe. Poor baby :(
  • I know i have to have special earrings or mine get infected. I wonder if thats whats happening to her
  • @jennalynne87 i have to as well, we got her sterling silver
@starrxoxo9 i just threw up and have been in the fetal position the last hour :/ i guess it's the stomach bug

Is she throwing up a lot? They have these pills to make the vomiting stop..zofran...nevermind they don't usually prescribe that for children under 4. Sorry...feel better you 2

  • @homebirthadvocate yeah after I wrote that, it had me thinking the age limit must be way older, so I looked it up and it's 4+...My son had zofran once, it works amazing! He was so sick, he couldn't even keep a tiny sip of water down :(
  • Oh! I was asking because rotavirus is going around. But if baby isn't generally in daycare then its probably not that.
