People that have tried the pack n play.....(Help)...

edited May 2012 in Third Trimester
Im reffering to the baby bed that can be eventually used as a play pin. I saw some really good ones that are at a reasonable price at Target.

How good are they? Do you recommend me buying one? Is it safe for a baby to sleep in of all sizes? Basicly just tell me your experience with it.

  • Well i used the pack and play for the first few months til she started getting stronger to lift her head over the edge, shes now almost 9 months old and i use it as the play pin, i think is a good item to buy if you have extra money, since i dont recommend it to be used to sleep on for a long time.
  • @AishaMusa I never put my daughter in it to sleep in cause she sleeps with us but I put her in there now so she can play with get toys in it. I like it and think its a good thing to have cause you can also take it other places.
  • I didn't buy one I got a crib but I wish now that I would have gotten one cause I Co sleep cause when she was first born I didn't want her to be all the way in her room by herself and I didn't want to have to be going back and fourth with her after feedings to take her back to her room cause I didn't have a chair in her room to feed her then put her back in the crib...I would recommend it cause your can have her still close to you but on her own
  • I got one of those before I got a crib. She used it in my room until a month ago. Only reason she isn't in it now is because we decided to move her to her own room so we got a crib. Great investment.
  • @Jazzie & @newmomma13 Do you think it'll be safe for a baby to sleep in because for some reason when I look at the sleep n play ...the devider between the actual play pin and the place were you can lay the baby to sleep doesn't look to safe. it looks as if its a mat devider kinda like the material used for the changing pad that comes with most diaper bags. I couldnt check it out all that much since they dont allow people to take it down from the display area..
  • @AishaMusa its safe cause I use to lay her on it when I had to do things like cook, but it comes with something to hold the top part up so it won't fall or nothing. But It was just easier for her to sleep with me.
  • I used it for my daughter for the first 6 months... I love it... Now she is bigger and stronger she can use it as a play pen
  • I got one for Kaylee and she slept in it until she was 7 months. It was really convenient having her right beside my bed. She sleeps in her own room in her crib now. The only time she sleeps in it now is when we travel somewhere or when she stays the night with her grandparents. I say get one if u can afford it; they come in really handy.
  • My baby is 6 months and she sleeps in it every night!!! I also still use the changing table that comes with it ... like someone else said its great for road trips!!!
  • Nyla sleeps in her pack & play now BC u grew out of her bassinet & she loves it.
  • Thanks ladies!!
  • My friend used it for naps all the time. They're sturdy, don't worry :)
  • i have one that has a changing table on top also.. it was really handy.. i used it for downstairs and have her crib upstairs. now i use it as a play pen. she'd cry for being it in for more than 10 mins and when i'd lay her down in it she'd wake up but that started around 4 months.
  • I have one that has a napper and changing table. My daughter slept in it and loved it! Now it's her play pin. :-)
  • I had one but my baby HATED sleeping in the bassinet portion of it so we didn't use it again til she was months older. This child we bought a cosleeper bassinet that you put next to the bed and this kid loves it...def wont last long because it only hold ups to so much weight but by then my oldest should be out of the crib

  • My lo is almost 7.5 months and still sleeps I. The bassinet part. She doesn't roll over or crawl yet and only weighs 16lbs. Its sturdy. We bought the mattress that goes in it so its not so hard on her back. I lo e it and definitely recommend getting one if you can.
  • I never got one. Both my boys sleep in their own beds. The only time we use one is at grandparents houses and they have one there. My boys don't sleep well in them. We LOVE the crib!
  • Its safe. My son slept in it until he was 7-8 months, now he's in the crib.
  • We have one and that's what my son stayed in for the first 6 weeks. It was great to have him right there next to my bed! We travel a lot so its great for him to sleep with in trips! He's 8 months and still uses it! I recommend it and the changing table attachment was nice to have too!
  • Juliana used it till 8 months when she moved to her crib. She is one now and just used it to sleep in while we were back home visiting.
  • We got all our stuff from target and I love it! What brand are you getting? I love our pack n play. We used it the first 4 months until she moved into her crib. The bassinet part is great, it is very sturdy. We used a crib sheet over top along with a multipurpose pad underneath, cause our lo spit up a lot. We will be using it when we go on trips..I feel that it is a must have!
  • I think those things are really hard but u started using it for my son to hang out in when he got older
  • @salasmommy they make pack n play mattresses so its not so hard. I got one for my lo and it's the only place she'll sleep.
  • @Steph_Due_101611 I have the matress but i just don't like it LOL I wish they made baby tempurpedics I even freak when he sleeps in the car seat bc i feel his back is going to hurt or something
  • @trixiesmom8 I'm not sure yet.
  • Ok well we went with the chicco brand and we love it. We have the pack n play, carseat, and high chair set. I am so glad we registered for them. I wouldn't buy anything else.
