@captivated Her sister had the two "bite" things as well, but no rash ever came from it. They went away pretty quickly. When I told the doctor that her sister had the "bites", he still referred to it as a systemic reaction. It baffled me because that would mean it had spread from the "bites" within her own body, right? My rash things is orange. Like a pumpkin. What could cause mine to be orange, if you know?
  • The fact that it's under her diaper area is weird too, cause she wouldnt have likely stuck her hand down the back of her pants either. :/
  • @Wilsomom She's 6, so that would be the area where her hand would come in contact with her skin when pulling her pants down. I didn't realize until you just said that. HM!
  • Oh no that's awful. Have u tried a oatmeal bath?
  • I am stumped too! Oatmeal good suggestion or oatmeal in sock bath.
  • My bad, I didn't know she was that old lol.

    What does hm mean?
  • @Wilsomom I was thinking when you mention her not being able to reach down her backside that it could have spread from her hand. Lol. Hm means I was thinking it was a good suggestion by you.
  • @emy, @Bahamamama4828 Yes, tried oatmeal, it helped only while she was in the bath. It didn't calm any of the redness like it should have. She sat on Saturday morning in it for nearly an hour with no relief. The ER doctor told me that topical most likely wouldn't help, that's why he prescribed the oral steroids.
  • Oh I'm slow! :/

  • @gatorbob I walk her, she doesn't roam free as she would jump the fence. She's only gone as far as the front yard. I'm almost thinking that it was the bugs carrying in something icky..

  • Maybe dog got a tic or flea and its causing a bacterial infection that's spreading?
  • I'm so sorry that you both have to go through this. I had something very similar to what she has just a few weeks ago, if I knew how to post pics I would show u cuz It's almost identical. They said I had an allergic reaction, it started out as what I was told was dermatitis? Then it got much worse overnight, from me touching it as well as putting cream on it I Duno if u are using any cream on it because if you are that might be making it worse, just don't let her scratch it because that us what is most likely making it worse also.as for u having it as well has me stumped maybe both of you are allergic to the same thing.
  • Haha! I wouldn't agree with you but here is why I thought of it! My husband for the last 20 some years of his life was told he was allergic to bees. He was stung when he was little his mother took him to the hospital because of serious complications this bee sting caused. Last year he was stung at his company party( too much cologne). I figured he didn't drop dead, have swelling anywhere and was fine. Later that night we talked with a fellow coworkers wife who is a nurse and she mentioned that maybe when he was little he had a reaction to the pollen or whatever the bee last touched. That's why this crossed my mind! I sure hope you find some answers and you and baby girl get some relief! Poor thing! Thinking of you both! :)
  • Any answers? That looks horrible. I hope you both feel better.
  • @Mama_Kat They still aren't sure.. But they did a few tests on us, will have full results tomorrow. But... On the way home, I wondered if maybe its a fungus of some sort (even though they ruled out ringworm)... I put Lotramin on a small area to test, will see what happens!
