The only thing u need to be careful of is not getting your core temperature too high. I am in my 2nd trimester and go every once in a while but I use the uv free bed and do the stand up and only stay 9 min. But always ask your doctor to be safe.
The most dangerous thing with tanning while pregnant is the heat. That's why your not allowed in a hot tub while your pregnant. I haven't found anything actually saying, "Do not tan while pregnant" but I really don't see any point in risking your baby for a tan. I have never been into the whole tanning bed thing, anyways, but if tanning used to be a everyday thing before you were pregnant...how about a spray tan?
Yah I cando the spray but with that you breathe in and indgest all the chemicals they spray on your body for 2 mins straight.. don't think I want to do that
Ah yeah, true. -As I said, I'm not a tanning person. ....I say...just go have a piece of cheese cake. In no time your bundle of joy will be in your arms and then any kinda tanning will be back in sight for you.
Wait the 9 months to get some color! I am a nurse and get this question all the time. I myself tanned before I got pregnant. Now I just deal. UV Rays do affect the baby. You are using artificial lighting that plays a huge role. Plus the tanning lotions is a big no no. Not even spray tans are a good idea. Just read all the chemicals you're putting in your body. Remember this body you have for the next 9 months isn't even yours! Wait till after to look cute and spoil yourself. Also remember any laser surgery or treatment is a big no! Bleaching is also added in this category.
withlovevz.. I'm gonna pick your brain for a minute (: I have family pics coming up & I'm kinda white.. we're wearing white also.. kinda don't wanna look like casper haha, but I don't like spray tans & the tannin bed is a no no.. so do anything that's safe I could try!?
@armywifeleah there are places w. here you can get an airbrush tan. A lady actually applies it with an airbrush and if they're good you wont be breathing in any chemicals. Bonus! They spray you with a custom color to suit your skin tone! No orange glow. The one I went to was $20 or $25 and I loved it. Totally worth it! If you call ahead they'll give you instructions to prepare so your tan will last longer. Good luck!!
@katlilly.. thanks do you know where to find people that will do that? The only thing I know is do it myself I do hair makeup tans everything and. I do myown too but not sure how it will work out with a baby belly lol
@armywifeleah Just do a Google search of your area for airbrush tanning. Mine was done at thus little tanning salon w a tacky tiki theme lol. The lady was a little cooky but it came out better than I could hope for! Now I wanna go again!!
@mommy3 I don't suggest that you get any spray tanning or any alternative done! Like I said harsh chemicals are no Buenos for your little one. Just bare the skin your in. ;;) I would wear some great bare minerals make up! I have switched to Bare Essentuals and I absolutely love it. Let me know how your photos look. Remember this is the time to enjoy being naturally beautiful. (*)
withlovevz.. I have great makeup to help, but I've never been this white & I don't wear makeup much, so I don't wanna go buy a lighter color.. but my makeup is the tone of how I usually am and my shirt I'm wearing is quarter length.. so even if I wear my makeup.. I'll look two diff colors maybe I can have them hold off on pic taking til it warms up since I live on the beach.. who knows!
Sure. Just stay positive! Trust me I'm looking pretty pastey as well. But hey if you're taking pics its nothing Photoshop can't fix! Tell the photographer to give you a tan when he edits his lighting in the photos O:)
I get airbrush tans on a regular basis and it is all natural. No chemicals or anything harmful. I'm sure they have some sprays w chemicals but I know there's some that are very safe. And being preggo does not mean you have to give up all the things that make you feelbeautiful.
