how do you know....

edited March 2011 in Pregnant
The exact day you concieved? I had my first ultrasound this week and they didn't move my due date but moved how far along I was by 1 day. So does that mean I conceived a day later than I thought? And if that is true, why didn't my due date move forward a day too? Also we were ttc so I was doing temperature and ovulation sticks and they kinda conflicted each other so im having a hard time figureing out the conception day. Help would be appreciated.

  • No one will know the exact day they conceived hun because it can take up to 72 hours for an egg to be fertilized, that would be conception day. :) no worries hun.
  • Unless that was the ONLY time you did the hanky. But still could be in that 72 hr window.
  • They are right its around about day not exact. Since sperm lives in you for about 72hrs.
  • Hmmm okay that makes sense. Why would they change how far I am but not the due date?
  • Maybe since it was just a day? Still in the same range and week of the due date. They aren't the exact dates you'll have it, more of when to be expecting it. Just not that big of a change? I was given October 8th as a date then the 11th. Doesn't bother me because it's still in the same range of days, I feel. Don't think it's anything to dwell on.
  • Only 5% of women have their baby on the due date it van be anything from 2 weeks before to 2 weeks after. Because there is only 1 days difference they probably didn't see any point in changing your dye date.
