Picking a good OB/GYN?

edited February 2011 in Pregnant
I'm kinda lost... I had a not so great experience with the doc I used when I was preggo with our son and now I really want a good one. A doc I feel comfortable with, can just talk to. Can I "interview" docs? I've asked family and friends for recommendations but nothing good has come of it. I don't wanna just open up the phone book and start calling but I'm thinking I might. Help!!

  • I'm prego with my first.. I've had two appts so far & had a diff doc each time. No one said id be switching docs. They assigned me with a male doc & I was like before I switch to a female, ill see how it goes. I got to the appt.. didn't even see who I was told id see.. seen a female.. the next appt, I seen a new one. & its not comfortable enough in there to just talk, its more.. do the appt & go. But this is the office I was referred to & I guess I'm stuck here bc there isn't another office where I live. If I had a choice, id def call around & get comfortable.. good luck!
  • There is an app called itriage, choose "find a doctor" then follow the prompts, you can get ratings and review on doctors in your area. The app is good for many other things too. Hopefully it will help better then just opening the phone book, good luck to you...
