  • I had a friend who delivered the day before her scheduled c-sec. She's the only one I know personally, though.
  • With my 2nd I went into labor about 3.5 weeks before my scheduled c-section date. I was really sick though and had some kind of infection in my stomach. My baby was still 8lbs5oz but was put in NICU because she was sick too. But don't stress...even if you do go into labor before then, it will not be a huge deal. Just relax and enjoy the rest of your pregnancy!
    Is this your first???
  • @magcaw she delivered vaginal? Or where they able to still do the csection?
  • @mommyo3soon2b4 did u deliver vaginal lol nd no this is my second..I'm so nervous of her comin vaginal since my son was csection I have no clue Wht to do or how it will fill to deliver with out csection..so I'm tryin to enjoy it as much as possible =]]
  • Y r u having a csection this time around? Personally not me but I did have a friend that was schedule cuz her baby was breached n then a few days later she turned head down amazingly n she was able to give birth naturaly! It may sound crazy but I would be much happier when a woman delivers naturally then s csection if not neccesarily needed! I had 2csections n my first natural born am only 11weeks and I doctots usually dont do natural birth after csection but am pushing them to let me do a trial labor, n believe me am going to do everything possible to have this one vaginally!
  • @iris_y_juan she delivered vaginally. It wasn't her second c-section and it was scheduled, not a medically necessary one.
  • My personal opinion, natural birth is beautiful and you recover so much faster! Hey if the baby comes b4 good for you! Believe, me you will not regret it! U should try walking a lot and a lot of sex, who knowd mayb u will see ur baby tonigjt! Goodluck! Keep us posted!
  • Lol Ive had a csection with my son he was big nd didn't move dwn nd this is a scheduled csection cause my doc doesn't want to take the chance of my uterus erupting nd my bby is big over 8lbs so he said csection which I'm very happy to.have one nd dnt want a vaginal birth cause I'm a sissy for pain well not really cause my recovery from my sons csection was very easy nd fast so I'm definitely hoping she doesn't come early nd have a vaginal delivery...I can't imagine how it will feel or anything nd it scares the crap.out of me @Taty
  • @Taty I'm on light bed rest since.I've been having pelvic pain nd hip pain..I mean I do walk..I go grocery shopping nd take my son out to the park or w.e else but I'm in a lot of pain if I walk to much or lift anything heavy or even lift my laundry basket up nd dwn stairs =\ also I haven't had sex in maybe 2 months due to the discomfort nd pressure dwn there =\
  • Damn...lol I guess we all differemt! But for me I hate the pain of the needle in my spinal cord... Oh boy I do not want to remember! I perfer the labor pain then all I go thru with a csection! chances of uterus rupturing are very low according to my research! I jad my 1st one at 15 years n he wad 9lbs and I deliver wit no medications at all! With the third I.had signed for a VBAC n then my doc said the baby was too big n ended up with an unessecary csection! Am still upset at her recommendations! U should watch this documentary that I saw on net flix, birthing in America!
  • I have 3 kiddos all c-section...I was in labor for 3 days pushed for close to 4 hours w my 1st before they decided there was no way for me to ever deliver naturally. I sometimes think I missed out not delivering naturally, but don't you ever feel bad that you can't. No matter how your baby gets here it is a beautiful thing. And the most important thing is a safe delivery for mom and baby. Also, I didn't have a crazy long recovery time. I refused pain meds and got up to walk around within an hour of delivery.
  • Dont attack me lol.. Just kiiding, it was a joke. I have nonething against a medically neccesary csection! I understand completely that some women just cant! Sometimes Doctors do unecessary csections for thier own convenience! N insurances private ir public pay more for a surgical procedure! I saw a documentary in which I learned that the birthing system here is a huge money maker! Am just a big advocate on natural birth bcuz the risks are always lower! Yes regardless it is an amazing experience!
  • I was in back labor for over 24 hours with my first at 38 weeks and after 4 hours of pushing they realized she was faced the wrong way. Labor was more painful than the recovery of a csection for me. I went into labor at almost 37 weeks with my second and when my doctor arrived we had my csection. With my 3rd i had her at 38 almost 39 weeks. Same situation. All of my kids came out fine with no problems whatsoever.
  • I had a vaginal birth with my first and now that I'm pregnant with twins my dr. is telling me it'll most likely be a c cection wich pisses me off cause I want him to at least try if baby a is head down, I am so horribly terrified of c cections, especially the recovery time since I need to be taking care of 3 babies and I have no family to help, any advice?
  • Am a strong advocate of natural birth! Stick to ur grounds, let them know that u want to deliver vaginally if possible! If both of ut babies are head down u can defitnely do it!
  • I was scheduled with my second because I had my first via C Sec due to no progression. Well I went into labor that same day but they still delivered him via c sec. Now Im scheduled for August 5th.
  • Look at ur options if thats what u want n research! Ask questions do not stay empty!!! Alwayd ask why? Make sure u understand n if not ask other doctors if u go to a clinic thats not a privaye office! If theres no major risk I dont ser why you cant! How far r u n r the babies head down?
  • i started to go into labor on the same day as my csection, dr was like oh regardless ur gonna have this baby today anyway
  • My csection recovery was great I was up walking around nd the only pain meds I had was at the hospital which was the 1st nd 2nd day the third I wasn't in any pain nd didn't need it nd when I went home the doc gave me pain meds but I didn't use them the only thing I.didn't like was the jelly like feeling in my stomach lol. But I do want a csection nd I'm happy my doc is goin to do it..he delivered my son nd did great so I'm ok with another csection by him

@taty only one is head down but the thing is I'm only a little over 17 weeks so I have plenty of time till the second baby turns, so I dont understand how the dr.can make a decision like that this early, not that I have anything against c cections but from my personal experience I loooove vaginal birth, for me, the whole experience was smooth, fast and just wonderful. and of course I was able to get up to take care of my child right away, something I'm afraid won't be possible with a c cection, at the end I know they have to do whats best for my babies but I will insist on v birth if baby a is head down.
  • What if baby a comes out but then baby b cant be born vaginally?

@iris_y_juan wow no pain meds after 2 days! Kudos to you! I have 2 friends that got a c section and they both said it's very tough and that they weren't able to move normal till after 2weeks and they were on lots of pain killers, I guess everybody is different.
  • Am having an elective c section doc said if I go into labor before my elective he still still do the c section....and he said elective is much bette than emergency.
  • @luvbump ugh...thats true, thats why they probably dont want to risk it, but I've heard of lots of good doctors that are able to turn baby b and get him out...i guess it's better to have them both head down tho...i guess I'm just a big chicken with a cesarean I'm trying to avoid it the best I can :-S we'll see what happens...or maybe I'll try the spinning baby tips!!

Csections just like vaginal births arent for everyone. I dont have problems with csections but some women do.. Dont let ur dr pressure you into anything. Explain to him you at least want to try. I mean it might come down to a csection no matter what but youll never know unless you try.
  • @Josie749 yea I was surprised too I heard a lot of horrible stories before I had a csection nd was suppose to have a vaginal birth but my son was too big for me nd they did a csection it wasn't an emergency he was fine nd so was I but it was jst best since he was big this one isn't an emergency either but my doc says its safer since the babys get bigger after ur first?? He said he will do a csection which I was 100% ok with since I know Wht to expect I'm happy with the decision.. wow I hope this one is as smooth cause in 2 wks I was doin everything normal jst not lifting anything too heavy nd of course no sex but as far as caring for myself nd son it was good
  • @iris_y_juan I'm glad eveything went well for you :) and i think it works out perfect cause you know what to expect so you're more ready for it..at least it makes me feel a tiny bit better knowing it's not as hard as im imagining. I wish you the best with your delivery please keep us posted :)
  • I had an emergency c section with my son, I had a placenta abruption and he came at 29 weeks 1 day, I had my csection at 927pm on a tuesday, by 7am the next morning I was in the shower mostly washing myself, then by 10 am I had walked from the maternity section to the nicu to hold my son. My doctors yelled that I should not have and the nurses shoukd moniter me better, but nothing stopped me from seeing my son and pumping breast milk. Kangaroo care helped my son to get out of NICU sooner. I had pain medd but kept as active as I could. I was 16 then, 6 yrs ago. I have to have another csection cuz my risk of another abruption (if u had one b4 ur 10x more likely than other women to have one). Im going to try to be active again, but I hope nicu isnt needed :) best wishes to all. And I was told if my daughter comes early that they'll perform csection b4 they risk me getting to far into labor.i would love to experience natural childbirth but I want the best chance for me and my baby. On the brightside of csection, my scar is little and on bikini line and my hoohoo will not be stretched :)
