Advice on a baby boy

My BD and I have picked 2 names for each gender. For a girl it will be Chloe Skye and Alice Michelle, in the order. And for a boy it would be Hector Emmanuel (after his father) and Tristan Dean. The problem is, the BD is on the verge of leaving me. He still wants to be around for the little one, but if we aren't together, I don't want to name my son after him nor would I want them to have his last name. I kind of convinced him into Emmanuel Nicholas (after him and my brother who passed away), but even that's a bit much for me if he leaves. I just don't want to be calling his name when I'm trying to talk to my baby. Understandable? I just need some help Preglys....

Name him what you want to girl. I definatly wouldnt name my baby after him knowin hes leaving. Even if he dont leave now, he may decide to after baby is born then you will be stuck with whatever name. I say dont give him his name if u dont like it

@Karla_with_a_K Thanks, I thought the same too. I know he won't abandon the baby, he really wants to be a dad. But he doesn't trust me and doesn't think its his (it is. I'm 100% sure). Its going to be hard letting him know his baby boy won't have his name

I totally understand that, I wouldn't really want to have to call my ex's name every time I talked to my son, either. I'd go with your second choice, I like that name better, anyway.

Don't name the baby after him. Whether you may work it out or not I would just suggest going a safer route. After your brother... an amazing idea. Or if u want use his name as the middle...

Especially if he is not believing its his. -make sure to test ASAP that it Its but its nit fair to force u by guilt into naming it after him when you're splitting!

@karla_with_a_k he's leaving because he found out I had kissed someone during a week that I was mad at him. A kiss...that's all. I've never slept with another man in my entire life. But now he feels that he can't trust me with anything. Which is ridiculous because he has done much worse to me. I think he is just trying to find excuses to get out of the responsibilty. He called off the engagement (we were engaged for 2 years) and is now "thinking over our relationship"

@FTPreggoMama I actually am in your position right now as far as the non trusting cause I lied about having a twitter and cause my boyfriend had trust issues with his ex girlfriend in the past that he just always thinks that Im cheating when and lying but my lies are white lies cause he is just so sensitive and very jealous when I SWEAR Im not doing anything...smh but anyways I feel how u feel but he has a right to choose his son's name cause it is his but so do u....U should do a silent compromise meaning if u wanna name your son after his father and your brother do that....U have a right and so does he...a name shouldnt have anything to do with your relationship status it should be decided between the mommy and daddy.

@SimplyJenai you have a really good point. I'm going to talk to him tonight or this weekend to see if we can work something out. I want everything to work out between us so this won't be a big deal. I love him with all my heart.

@FTPreggoMommy I hope everything goes well for you...I hope for me too. This lady told me that she was married and named their son after her now ex husband and she cant stand her ex but she loves her child and its how u raise him that determines who he is and not his name....Hell I feel that cause twins look identical but act fraternal if that makes sense to you.

Tristan Nicholas... i like it. no matter what i truly hope that things work out for you and that he realizes what he has (but please don't stick around if he's not respecting you). If you like his name and want to name your son that, do it, but i just didn't want you feeling forced into doing something. you have some great options so go with your heart... and let us know how it all goes with your talk!! My sister named her baby after his dad, and his last name... After baby was born he was being the biggest ass ever, so she went to that social security office and changed his name and last name (she gave him our last name) so whatever u do my dear its free to do any changes before the baby is 1 yr old well at least ib the great state of texas it is )
