Finally found a great caretaker for my little one and I!!!!!
So I must share... I'm so excited!! I am now 19 weeks preggo with #2 and 26 years old (just for some background). So when I went to my 1st appointment at 8 weeks I had the worst experience EVER. I was being seen by a student doc (teaching clinic). She asked if I had any health problems and what meds I was currently taking. I told her about my fibromyalgia, arthritis, and migraines. Mind you I was on day 4 of a migraine and hadn't taken anything because I was waiting to see her. She tried to find the heartbeat and in the process saw my tattoo on the inside of my hip (pentagram~I'm wiccan.) Things took an immediate turn for the worst. She told me that she wasn't going to give me a prescription for pain. She acted like I was going to take them 24/7, which I obviously was not considering I was only asking for 3 days worth not anymore than that for a month. She said that whenever I get one to go to the ER. I advised her of the way people with chronic migraines get treated if they don't have anything at home (basically like a drug seeker). She said AND I QUOTE "if you aren't willing to deal with your pain you should terminate this pregnancy". I left crying and ended up in the ER that night. Obviously at this point I was terrified to go to another doc. I felt like the worst person in the world. I couldn't get excited about the baby. I was totally indifferent to the whole thing.
Finally after 2 months I found a midwife. She is awesome! She actually listens to my concerns. What a concept She didn't rush me out or make me feel like crap. She gave me multiple options for pain management without judgement. She made me excited to have my baby. She didn't judge my tattoo on the inside of my hip. I must say... midwives are so much better! At least mine is
Sorry, I had to share. Has anyone else dealt with a horrific doc?
