What does a contraction feel like?

I was induced with baby #1, and had back labor till 5cm, then got my epidural and had a c section for failure to progress. I never felt a thing in my stomach... my back felt awful though... yuck.

Anyway. Now I'm 38 weeks and I always think I'm in labor when my belly cramps. I just don't know what the heck it actually feels like, so I don't know if its normal aches or not... ?????

    OK well I was induced with both but had natural this time which sucked but in the beginning its like period cramps then gets stronger till u want to die.

    People say they have to be timed but my were very irregular

    Lol.. I have a ton of pressure and have for two days, but none of the pains regulate. I think I am driving my husband crazy saying im in labor all the time... right now I have a lot of pressure and light cramping, but that's all... maybe its BH?

    Good question... I have been having MAJOR period like cramps all day and my back is starting to really hurt but I deffinatly have had pressure in my butt.. if this is the start how long do you think it will take to pick up?? @proudmomma

    @havin_a_girl well I had it in my back and tummy. If its extreme then you could be active labor and id get to the hospital. If it feels different from anything its probably labor. Mine also felt like gas and cramps then got to extreme pain not like cramps but more like someone was ripping my insides out through my belly button. The pressure in my butt felt like pushing down.

    Every labor is different so you could be one that has mild labor. I was induced both times so I heard that induction hurts more than without pitocin

    @jess510 well to make it better with my first I was induced and got an entrithical and with my second I was induced with an epidural BUT my entrithical didn't take to much and my epidural failed completely cause my body rejects drugs. So I was all natural. If you get induced get an epidural there's no shame in pain meds :)

    I was induced with The pill they purty in your cervix, and by The time I was in bad pain my epidural man was at the door! Lol but... I guess I am not in labor. So, on to the next day! @jess510 don't worry about The scary stories! We're all different and although it does hurt its not like all at once, Its gradual and you will have time to see what you can or can't handle. You wont suddenly feel all those pains. :*)

    @jess510 yes its gradual and u have time. But don't wait to get drugs cause it could end up being to late cause the anethisiologist could be busy and not make it in time so ask in advance :)

    My contractions felt like pain when my lil girl moved but dr confirmed its was contractions
