Bad news.......ok worst news!

edited June 2011 in Health
I'm 28 wks, woke up this morning with bad back pain and menstrual cramps so I went in to L&D and got bad news. So in april I got diagnosed with placenta previa, 2 ultrasounds later and my placenta has not moved at all. Today I was told I have vasa previa, I will not have my son naturally, and I will be induced around 35 wks if I have no complications and they put me on bed rest. I am so scared that there is a possibility that I may lose my precious Cameron but God brought us this far and I'm staying positive. To top it all off, my hubby is deployed and he can't be here and he's scared and worried. Anybody else going through this or have had this?

  • :( How did they diagnose you? You're lucky, I thought that that was something that was usually diagnosed after birth. Shouldn't they be giving you a c-section rather than inducing you?
  • My prayers are with you and your little one. Do you havv some family members around you that could be with you durinn this timebsonce your spouse I deployed?
  • Prayers to u & ur baby!
  • My doc thought that I had it when I was 22 weeks but when I went back at 26 weeks my placenta had moved
  • @everyone thank you so much for your positive words. I was told that even if my placenta moves this vasa previa is much worst. I am so thankful for all the prayers.
  • Normally they find this out after delivery but I was lucky enough for them to find it early so that my son will have a longer survival rate. I didn't mean to say induce....my mind is all over the place today, but I will definately have a c-section and will not carry full term.
