  • I've had 3 kids already and have never had anything bad happen to me. My first was all natural and the second 2 I had the epi. My lower area never hurt bad just swelled but its normal. Yes things can happen but most times everything will go just fine. Where I I have my babies they only come in to check temps and vitials. Never do others come in til the morning. So don't get to scared. I've had great deliveries.( sorry if my spelling sucks)

  • @almost4 yeah you can get the tightness back for sure.. I worked out like a mad woman after my daughter and was able to get back down to 115lbs... it wasn't easy but I did it!
Of course all these things don't happen to everyone... I just thought it would be fun to list some things that happened to me, or could happen to others. That's interesting about the massaging after a Csection.. I had no idea!

Another one, when breastfeeding you will get EXTREMELY thirsty! I would always keep bottles of water next to the bed to help me through the night. Also with breastfeeding it helps your body not only contract to get the uterus smaller, but it releases a hormone in your body that makes you INCREDIBLY sleepy. Took me a few weeks to get used to this. After a while it went away and I got used to it, but the first week or so it was difficult to manage a newborn and fight off the urge to dose asleep while feeding.
I swear I would be wide awake and as soon as she would latch on I would be like... WHOA bed time!
  • @almost4 I only had one bad experience and that was only because I ad a bad nurse. I done get the point of scaring people. Birth isn't bad. I was always told after words you forget ever pain once you hold your baby that was true for me
  • I had a c-section and they didn't massage me and I didn't breastfeed. They also didn't keep me in the hospital till I pooed either.
  • @trisha it's def. not about scaring people at all! I just wish some of the random stuff that people would have shared with me. Whether it happens or not.. in the end really it doesn't matter how much pain or hardship you go through.. when you see the baby and hold him/her it ALL goes away! :-)
  • @robinlinlee83 wait im confused! did u have ur baby?? lol sorry off topic but im confused lol I thought u were still preggo?

  • @robinlinlee83 very true it all goes away after seeing your baby. I just know first time moms are already freaking out about giving birth that somethings are scare for them. Not saying what has happened to others will happen to them. But its still scary. I really enjoy hearing stories about other peoples births its nice to compare.
I hear storis from my mother inlaw and my mom whom have both worked in the ob units and I tell you some still scare the crap out of me. Even with this being my fourth
  • @almost4 with my second the nurse started my patocin and epi amd I got sick. All she did was through a towel on me and walk out of the room. Not only that but my contraction and everything stopped in the middle of the night and she never told the doctor who was sleeping down the hall until morning. That's the only reason I had to have the epi and patocin in the first place. I also had the same nurse the next night and I was nursing my daughter and she was pushing my babys head and pulling on me. So I got pissed and made her get me a bottle. Then she started yelling at me.
  • @mommyofsoon2b3 this is my second baby! lol.. my little girl is 18 months old. Like I said I guess I didn't learn from the first! It's just to wonderful to have such a great blessing! I would go through it again.
@almost4 You are a lucky one... mine fell off pretty good at first.. but then I had to really work to lose the last 30lbs... now 9 months pregnant again, and I get to do it all over! lol.
@trisha I agree, I didn't mean to scare any First time moms, it's just when all those random things happened to me, I was like WHAT THE HECK! Why didn't my mom or anyone tell me about all this other nonsense! I can't imagine hearing your MIL stories, oh goodness, that would be TERRIBLE!!!
I think with this being my second, I'm actually MORE scared because I do know what to expect. It would be great if I had no idea how bad it was going to hurt!
  • @trisha OMG.. I hope that nurse doesn't have a job anymore! that's terrible.
  • @robinlinlee83 ooooooooooh! ok lol I get it now lol thank you for clearing it up lol
  • @robinlinllee83 she got in lots of trouble my mom works there so she went to the boss.
With my first and third babies my births were great. The only thing that happened was with my third I had a tubal done and am now having number 4 after only her being almost 18 months old. Now granted a tubal works great but there is a one percent chance of it not working. Which I'm that one percent of everything lol.. so this time I'm having a partal historectimey(spelling) that's my only thing left to do. I really am happy with my 3 well now 4 and can't afford any more.
  • If you had a vaginal delivery u better start working in your kegel exercises !! My bladder is weak after having 2 kids i catch myself not being able to hold it like i used to
  • @mamato2boys yes weaker bladder forgot about that one! :(

  • Now its better but still not the same cute vag it used to be. LOL
  • Lol oh wow I'm super excited for birth now!! I can't wait!! :-?? Lol jk I am really excited. But this was a little scary but it'll be worth it!! :-bd

  • @kerrideeRN this is just what the nurse told me... I asked why it was so important and begged them not to give me anothercatheter... I begged! I said what's the worst that could happen if I don't pee... with which the snotty nurse replied.. your bladder could explode and kill you. No they won't let that happen.. was just a random thing I knew nothing about. At that point I gladly agreed to another catheter. :) lol
  • They checked every 15 minutes on my bladder after delivery to be sure I was trying to pee before my 2nd catheter. I was just such a baby about it.. she replied with that comment.
