  • Def a blanket, some butt cream, and a pacifier. If ur not going straight home or have a bit of a trip and r breast feeding, get a shawl or a bit bigger blanket for that. I pack light, but I don't live far.
  • @adensmommy0803 I can't believe they told u that, both hospitals I have delivered at r gonna charge u either way, and they always make sure to stock u up b4 u leave if ur insurance will cover it. But the stuff that is in there is already on ur room bill. I have 3 thermometers now, lol!! One from each kid.
  • Sounds like you're good for baby, but don't forget about you!! My best advice is a water bottle, lip chap, and your own pillow and blanket. Oh and snacks!!! It sucks being hungry at 1 am when nothing is open! I had to stay in the hospital for four days, so try to prepare to be comfortable!

  • @socalmomma2boys :) your awesome! I just don't know what else to say then..YOUR AWESOME!! Thanks!
@charlotteb that's so crazy some hopitals don't have a nursery..I have never heard of that, I guess I just assumed they all had them lol.we live pretty close to so I will definately keep that in mind. Before this place we lived 1.5 hours from a hospital so I guess I'm stuck in that frame of mind.
@natashalynnim working on my and shauns bag tomorrow so stay tuned for that post...coming soon ;) I have dry lips since I got pregnant so I always have chap stick and water with me at all times! Won't the hospital provide meals if were there for a long time?should we just bring snacks for in between or will we need to bring cash to so we can buy food
..? I'm such an amature at this, hope the 20 questions doesn't drive ya crazy lol
@momof22be oh man I have no clue where the nail clippers went lol! Haha I put then in the bathroom and I just looked and they disappeared, I swear this pregnancy brain is gonna get the best of me soon! I will add them when I find them (or give in and drive to the store and buy more just as I remember where I put them lol)..either way :) and that recipe sounds amazing, we re definately gonna try that one. Do you think it would freeze well? Sounds like you have some good cooking skills..don't hesitate to send any other quick, easy or freezable ideas this way ;)

Thank you all for the advice and good ideas! Your making my life feel a whole lot more organized :)
  • @island_mommie2b ok, thanks! Will they prepare a meal for shaun too (he's the only person who will be in the room and staying over night with me) or just for me since I'm the patient?
  • Lol! That's not what I meant, I just meant I can't believe they were telling that one momma that she could keep her bill down by bringing her own stuff, cuz here they put it all on ur insurance/bill whether u use it or not. And the meal thing is usually just u, but the cafeteria is usually really cheap.
  • Yes it frezzez well and tastes even better reheated. :) remember use only baby nail clippers I'm assuming that's what u were talking about but I just wanted to be sure oh clip yours too just in case
Buy some frozen lasagna, frozen turkey loaf is always good with rice
    frozen meatballs and spaghetti
also whole chicken instant mash, rolls or biskits corn in the can easy but not 100% pre-done
If u like Thai food I have recipes but u would need to find an Asian market near u
  • Posted my list ladies
  • Hum. Maybe my hospital is different. Or maybe they charge extra for the extra stuff u bring in. I don't know. I just know she clearly stated if I wanted to keep my bill down then I should use my Owen diapers wipes etc. Cuz they wouldn't charge me for what I don't use.
  • @beautifulME Here is a list of things
  • Dang I must suck as a parent. Im taking myself an outfit n a car seat. That's it. I can't wait! Its going to be like a vacation! Room servise no kids n boy am I using that nursery! I just wish I was back in ohio where the nurses make u home made cookies n milk shakes!
  • @momof22be those are all really good ideas for easy food, thanks :) would you post the thai recipe too for me? I love me some curry chicken and anything spicy!!
    @socalmomma2boys thank you!
@island_mommie2b I hope they do that here, seems unfair to feed me but not poor shaun lol. A menue, how fancy! It'll be like a vacation and I'm sure we will be starving after such an event :)
@mandac10 you don't suck lol..your low maintance :) I don't think we will naeed a lot but I can't shake this feeling that if I'm not TOTALLY prepared, she will be unhappy, and then I fail :( stupid hormones! I want home made cookies and milkshakes! I wonder how shaun would feel about moving to ohio...? Lol
  • Ok so a really good Thai curry is super easy just go to the Asian market find some yellow or green curry well red too anyway look at the back and follow the recipe they usually call for coconut milk
idk if u like the flavor of lemon grass but there is one it calls for
    tomato
    green onions
    cilantro
    Chicken breast
lime leaves (from the Asian market)
    straw mushrooms canned(from Asian market)
Tom yum soup paste the single packets taste the best
    Rice

    So cook your rice
put in a medium pot 6-7 cups of water
    Chicken
    soup paste
then add veggies and leaves once chicken is cooked
    serve over rice
mmmmmmmmmmmm good I make it at least once a week hehe. ;)
