vagina question

Has anyone experienced their contractions being bought on by the medical staff inserting a tablet into the vagina? If so, what does it feel like? How effective is it? I want to know everything....

  • Yes I think it was called cirvadil (sp?) I don't remember much but it was put in to help soften my cervix before they started my induction it had to stay in 12hours I never felt any contractions from. It only when they started pitocin next day.....this was 9years ago I dunno if things have changed as far as that goes or not...in the end I had to have c cection.
  • Oh n I never felt it...just like an exam....n It only made me dialate to a 3 I got stuck at 4for 24 hours
  • I was given cirvadil with my son. you don't feel anything besides an exam type feeling. It didn't work for me!
  • I was given a meso (sp?) pill to help soften my cervix and dilate, It felt like an exam. It worked for me :)
  • I was given something that was a 4 hr they did it 2x and then started pitocin
  • Really? Wow, so does it hurt when they insert it because I am scared.
  • it doesn't hurt really, more of a mild discomfort
