breast feeding?

Might be a dumb question, but is there any way to prepare your nipples for breast feeding? I'm afraid of cracking and the intense pain that goes along with that... I'm planning on bf, when I had my son I had soooo many issues and so much pain.. I wanna know if there's anything I can do prior to my babygirl coming into this world to prepare my boobs? Any advice would be amazing! And I'm sorry if this has been asked or discussed before, I use my phone and have a really hard time navigating through other posts when searching....

Lansinoh cream works wonders! I used it religiously at first and my nipple never cracked or scabbed up.

I used the medela nipple therapy stuff, I got free samples from the hospital...its awesome.

Ok awesome! Thanks ladies! Are you ladies using breast pumps if so have you heard anything about the medela single basic pump? It is electric but nothing special like the other medelas? I need help I don't have hundreds to spend on a breast pump and this basic medela is right in my price range... I've heard medela is a Great brand but wasn't sure if ALL medela was great or if there was specific ones? @rockinmomma and @ehill11009

Umm not sure. I got the medela harmony single manual one I believe...I've only used it once but it works really good. I'm a stay at home mom so I didn't need anything fancy, just to pump once and awhile.

@rockinmomma you have the medela basic single electric pump? And again where did you purchase it lol? I found it at baby depot for 49.99 and thought wow that's a good price! So I was really thinking about it especially since medela is supposed to be THE BRAND.. how often do you use it?

I have the medela swing. Its a single electric but its a step up from the one you're talking about. I got it for 125$ from burlington coat factory. I love it and it works amazing but I barely ever pump.
