how long after delivery when its safe/ok to get a tattoo/piercing?

My bday is Sept 2, I'm due Sept 22. I wanted to get a tattoo or piercing as a late bday gift. But how long is a great time to wait considering the possible stitches you are getting and or blood loss that will happen during delivery. I don't want to stress my body too much.

    @newmomma13 I'd think the 6 week mark you have to wait to do everything else but I'm not sure

    Tattoo doesn't travel though blood stream infection does lol if if bf don't unless ur comfortable w ur peircer and trust u will take care it it is still ask but I don't see anything wrong w it

    I waited until I was completely done swelling. It took about five weeks for my feet to get back to normal, and then I went and got my sons name on my foot.:)

    I got my daughters birth feet on top of my feet not even 2 weeks later. As long as you can sit thru the tat u should be fine.

    But, I would really just wait until the swelling is down and your not to sore.

    Depends on where you want it & if your breastfeeding.

    If your breast feeding wait untill your done just incase of infection & stuff.

    If you want it on your front hips or belly you have to wait a year for the skin to firm up.

    If neither or thos apply then you can go as soon as you want! :)

    @jtmoon98 @pnsw524 idk if ill be breastfeeding until today because I am going to ask my doctor about it but I might be seeing someone about my anxiety and depression soon and I don't know if I will be on meds or not so that could determine if I'm breastfeeding or not

    @jtmoon98 I've had bad anxiety/ depression before pregnancy. Anxiety caused panic attacks and black puts. Depression is really bad.

    @jtmoon98 thank you. My sons due here in 30 days. I'm considered full term Sept 1st. So I'm going to be anxious lol.

    Well im glad your taking care of yourself! I have family memembers that have struggled with depression and its a serious thing! as a teen I had really bad anxity that caused panic attacks which made me take meds so I know thats a hard thing to deal with! Mine got better after I met my husband :)

    What kind of tattoo are you wanting to get?

    Aw cute! I'm going to get another one after my little man is born. Then on his 1st birthday I'm finishing up our family tattoo :)

    Ya I'm not a big name person either. Right now I have 2 hippos, one my favorite color one my husbands, they have a shared thought bubble with a heart in it. :)

    We have a 14 month old and now were having Gavin & I'm going to have hipplets added, one to each side :)
