Just came back from Specialist and...

edited August 2011 in High risk pregnancy
When I first started going to the specialist it was for the growth scan and scan to test for syndromes. At my second appointment with the specialist they told me my placenta was low...ok not too worried about that bc I know in most cases it moves out of the way. Today was my follow up appointment to make sure that it had actually moved. It did thank God, but now two more issues have come up. The fluid around the baby is low, and bc I have high BP she ran a test on my placenta bc high BP can cause placenta abruption. Well the test she ran...which I don't remember the name of it, came back high meaning I am more as risk for placenta abruption. I have to go back no later than 3 weeks. Please pray that when I go back that things have changed for the better. Thanks

  • Aww I hope everything works out!
  • Thanks guys....my BF who is also pregnant posed a good question....what would happen if you hadn't gone to a specialist or get u/s regularly ( which i have heard some complain about) bc your high risk....than how would they have caught it? Insurance ought to be ashamed of themselves they are so cheap when it comes to u/s. I am just thankful they caught it in enough time. Thanks again guys @oregonmama @mandac10 @hismom20.
  • Hey hon, don't worry too much. I have a placental abruption and as long as you stay on complete bed rest and don't even try for a vaginal delivery- baby should be just fine. Mine was torn off 27percent at 25weeks, but I am 35weeks today and baby has been looking great! She is completely healthy and perfect(: As long as you listen to doctors, your chances of everything going good is great!!!
  • Thanks that gives me great comfort. They didn't tell me I needed to be on bed rest...I go back in 3 weeks. Thanks again @lindseynicole96.
  • If you are just at risk, you may want to talk to your doctor and ask if you should be on bed rest or just limit your activity or what. I'd definitively call soon though(before your next appt) to see. Hope everything goes great!! (:
  • Praying!
  • I had low fluid two weeks ago and they told me to drink lots of water and try and rest as much as I could. When I went back today for my ultrasound my levels were up so I would at lest try it! Good luck!
  • Thanks....yes I am going to call my doc tomorrow to ask questions, today I saw a specialist ...I think bc I was in such shock I didn't ask any questions and I have a lot, lol. @lindseynicole89
    thanks @pnsw524
  • Thanks @bertrang14...hopefully drinking the water helps. That's what they told me to do.
