I was induced at 38+6 and was 1 cm 75% effaced. I was induced 3 times and failed all if them and ended up with a csection. I didn't make it passed 3.5 cm. I got my epudural which didn't work then my bp dropped and so did baby girl heart rate...ended up in the OR for the section.

Advice would be to sleep as much as you can at home...being hooked up to the monitors makes it tough to sleep. Shower just before you go to the hospital and eat in your way there. Just go with the flow and whatever happens, happens. Good luck!
  • Good question, I just got the heads up that they are inducing me tomorrow. I'm so nervous! And ready at the same time. I would love to hear some of these ladies induction stories :)
  • Mine ended up being a c section spent 16 hours in labor and only dilated to a 3. My advice is to remember to breathe lol.
  • I ended up having a section too, 35 hours and was barely 1cm dilated. Hope it goes better for you, good luck
  • i went in on a sat night around 11 nd gave birth till monday morning at 5:50 am nd it was natural, wish u luck hopefully it goes smooth :)
  • @dreamaria oh no I'm sorry to hear that Hun!! :(
  • @honeybunny breathe... OK got it haha
  • @littlenat86 oh no :(!! But thank you!!
  • @mommyyara aw glad to hear a smooth story!!! :D n thank you!!
  • Was induced at 11am had baby by c section at 1:22am that night due to no dilation and preeclampsia.
My friend was induced in July and had her baby vaginally 24hrs after induction.
  • @vtmamajuju I'm so scared of a c section :( but thanks for stories!! :)
  • I'll try and post my story after birth...I'm 99.9% sure I'll be going in on Monday afternoon for cervidil then pitocin started on Tuesday morning. I just don't feel like I'll go into labor before then...and I've have no cervical progression in the last 2 weeks...I am a little nervous it'll end in a section though...:-( but if it does, that's okay. As long as baby is healthy!
  • @mama082711 that's brave!! I want my baby out out!! But I can't say I'm not scared to have a c section :( .. hoping inducing works!!
  • I may have to be induced. If I do I hope it goes well. I've heard half and half induction going great and induction going not so good.
  • @valentinasmommy I wish it was 90 -10 lol :( I don't wanna c section!
  • Just hope your body reacts from it good. May I ask why are you going to be induced?
  • I have twice. The advice I have is ask them to pace it slow, not rush you through like a McDonalds Drive thru. I got induced in the day once, and that was AWEFUL on me and the baby...0 to birth in 3 hours. And i wasn't allowed an epidural either cuz it was so fast...but it was un natural and my body didn't build up to the hard contractions, they just happened.

This July I went in at 10 pm for induction and so I would make it till morning when the doc came, they paced the pitocin slow....and it was MUCH better on me. The other advice. Get the epidural.
  • @mama_busy_bee was hoping not too get epidural :( ....
@valentinasmommy cause I go to a group of doctors .. we planned an induction so that o would get MY doctor not a Dr that was on call.
  • I got induced last friday and it was easy and great. when I got there I was I already at a four. they gave me some drug not pitocin. something else with a p. anyways doc broke my water then I got my epidural when I was at a six. not too much longer three pushes later he was out. Less than 5 hrs :-)!! Good luck to u!
  • I went in on a Monday at 11pm and had mu daughter Tuesday at 11:56pm. I loved it and would do it all over again!!! I had two doses of cirvidill(sp) so was still able to get up and walk around before they started pitocin Tuesday after noon. Going in to my induction I wasn't dilated at all and was 75%effaced. My doctor was surprised that I was ready to push she thought it was gonna take longer.

@navybabyonway @blessed1508 aw yay two good stories!!! Thank you for advice!!! :) congratulations on your babies :) & send me some successful induction dust! Hehe :) ;;)
  • I was induced with both of my daughters, and had them both vaginally :) my advice is to eat before you go in, relax as much as you can during contractions, try not to tense up your body! Walk the halls, bounce on a birthing ball, and squat during labor, don't stay in just one position. If you do pain meds I personally suggest epidural, it has no effect on the baby where everything else does. Just relax and go with the flow :)

  • @navybabyonway my Dr said no food drink or gum after midnight the day before?? :/
  • Your doctor said that??? Wow, my doctor and nurses told me to make sure I ate before because it would only be water, juice, and Popsicles during labor. So many hospitals are different though. Im glad I ate, my labors were long. Then right after I had her they gave me a huge tray of yummy food!
