birthing ball! did it help your baby decend..? update!

edited October 2011 in Third Trimester
im 37wks and 3days so ive started my naturl labor induction. not really agressive cause its still early.. but just things that are supposed to help your body get started.. anyone else done this and actually work.. my methods are the ball, rasberry tea, EPO, and an hour long walk a day.. the walking has been consistant throughout the pregnancy..

(update) ok so today i had my apt.. and last wk my lil man was floating head down.. but now ive been having alot more presure and pelvic pain.. the midwife said .. hes lowered into position and thats why.. i wonder if its the ball.. like i said im just trying to slowly coax this lil guy out and it seems to be working.. helping him along the process anyways..

  • Yes it helped me a lot. I even noticed a nig drop after spending five hours on it. But I was 39 weeks then.
  • O jeez @littlefae 5 hours?? I'm not confortable on mine, is all the air supposed to be in it? I read somewhere that when you sit your vag should be lower than your knees, i'm 38w2d and this baby is so high up its crazy
  • yea i dont expect to go into labor any time soon just dont want to have to be induced cause i went over with my last two and had to be induced.. my goal is just to help it along.. @LittleFae

  • did you have your baby already.. ? how far if not? @2BeForgotten
  • @Kimberly4411 lol I work from home so while on the comp just sat on the ball instead of the chair which was actually more comfortable. And I had my ball filled all the way.

@lae3 it really does help I had been using it from 36 weeks on up and did heavy use at 38 and 39 weeks and went into labor my 39th week lol
  • It helps me ease the pain from him having already dropped lol. I walk every day as well and I bounce on my ball and roll my hips on it as well. My last apt Dr said baby is in position Idk if the ball has helped or not. I also do squats up against the wall. Its supposed to help open your pelvis up.
  • I used it during labor and it didn't work for me
  • It helped me dilate and the baby descend while I was in labor with my last baby. I have been using it for like a week and the baby is -2 station and I'm 2cm dilated.
  • Is there a special kind to get and where can you get them? I want to start soon.
  • U can get a regular excersise ball.. For a few bucks dependin were u go.. Walmart target.. If ur 5'3 and below get the small ball above 5'4 get the larger one @sands3
  • @lae3 thanks! Looks like I'm going to wal mart tomorrow
  • B-) no problem .. and you can use it for regular excersise after babys born.. so it wont go to wast @sands3
  • Awesome! I have to get bikini ready quick. My husband wants to take me on a cruise when he gets home from deployment!
  • ooh yeah. me too.. no cruise but i do like haveing my body back.. for sure.. there are all kinds of excersizes .. you tube them when your ready.. for a more hands on teaching...
  • I'll be having a c section though, so it may be a little longer before I can do crunches
  • :o( why? that stinks.. recovery is so much longer..
  • I had one with my first because I was stuck at 6cm forever. It really wasn't that bad
  • That's great. :)
  • Great!! My friend gave me one to borrow so I'm going to start tonight!
  • It worked for me! It only took 10 days for my lil guy to arrive.
