Cramping, normal or not at 37 weeks?

edited October 2011 in Third Trimester
I was put on bed rest at 27 weeks b/c the cramping I was having were actually contractions...real ones. My doc took me off bed rest at 34 weeks.

Anyway, I've been having cramps on and off today. They aren't painful, so I haven't been timing them, but they are annoying. Just a dull cramping/aching sensation in my lower abdomen and lower back. I'm scheduled for a csection in two weeks, so I'm not sure if I should call my doc and let her know. I have an appt on Thursday. Thoughts?

  • It's normal. U might even be silently dilating. I have had them since 35 weeks and I usually dilate for weeks before birth :)

Phew! @bahamamamma4828 :) I was starting to get worried. I didn't have any pain or contractons prior to labor with my first, so I wasn't sure if this was a preface to labor. As much as I'd love to have her out now, I'd like her to cook another week or so :)
  • Sounds like normal aches and pains if you cant really time them and arent particularly painful...
  • That happened to me starting at 36 weeks and then out of nowhere I was in full blown labor at 37w4d and didn't even realize it cuz I was so early. I got to the hos at 9cm and 90% effaced.. the appt I had 4 days prior I was a fingertip and not effaced at all.
  • @lilpeapod913 really?! Oh my gosh! You progressed really quickly!
