Daughter won't eat...

edited February 2011 in Parenting
I sent my daughter to her grandparents house for the week & now she's back. She now only eats hot dogs & some type of noodles. No fruit, no vegetables. How do I get her to eat vegetables & fruit again?

  • How old is she?
  • My two year old won't eat meat or vegetables. He'll eat peanut butter and jelly, mac and cheese (or plain cheese), and certain fruits. And that's absolutely it, unless it is baked. It drives me crazy! They all go through these phases, tho, don't worry about it. If you make a big deal out if she'll just push harder to do it her way. Offer her a plate of good foods at every meal, and continue to offer her the foods she doesn't want. Eventually she'll start eating other things again. If you're very concerned, try adding purees to things, like butternut squash to mac and cheese or a mix of mushrooms, peppers, carrots, and zucchini to spaghetti sauce. Bananas and mango go very well mixed with the egg in french toast. There are a couple of recipe books out there that have a ton of puree suggestions. I don't have any of them so I can't suggest any titles, tho.
  • Thank-you
