Biopsy of rectum needed for distended belly

I was so nervous because they said she could have twisted intestines!!! Look at my baby Zola's distended belly....

Good news its just gas that is extremely backed up.....bad news I have been giving her gas drops for the past two weeks and it still got this distended!!!!! I just gave her some gripe water this morning I hope it helps over the next days......I also have to stick my pinky in her butt 2 times a day to stimulate her to go....it has worked last night I got some gas and poo out of her.....my poor baby! I just want that large distended belly to go away!!

how long had it been since she used the bathroom?

She did number 2 yesterday but it was runny liquidity. When I stick my pinky in her bottom I get the firmer poo too come out.

Sorry @mimii36 there was only one full day she didn't poo. Other than that she has used the bathroom normally the stool has just been runny.

@lovinmyunborn crazy thing is she is not fussy at all. When she is awake she just looks around peacefully and seriously only cries when hungry.

Poor baby I didn't no gas culd do that I hope she gets bettr an so glad u posted this my daughter gets real gassy a lot to .I wuld have freaked out so glad its jus gas !!

Yea my daughters stomach gets like that. She only poops like every 2 days & its always really runny when she finally goes. I hate it.

Oh man that woulda scared me too, I didn't kno gas could do that Hope it gets better & her stomach goes down.

I have to take Zola to see a gastro intestinal specialist to determine why this is happening. she may have undeveloped nerve endings in her rectum. I shouldn't have to stimulate her to poo this much.

Going to get a barium enema done today!! I really hope it doesn't hurt her! Then tomorrow we see the specialist to tell us whats wrong....we also have to see a surgeon tomorrow because the pressure from her stomach pushed a hernia down and its on her left labia :-( poor baby girl.

so now we have two things to rule out. The biopsy is for HIRSCHSPRUNG’S DISEASE when the nerve endings in the rectum are not fully functional...or it could be my breastmilk :-( they now have me feeding Zola nutramigen the most expensive formula :-(.....still have to see about her hernia today to see if surgery is needed.
Zola is such a good girl she is calm most of the time but it still breaks my heart.

Poor baby hope they hurry an get this figured out for her . My son had hernia surgery at a year old the surgery took like 20 mins wasn't near as bad as I thought hopefully hers will fix itself
