Tattoed Mommies or TTC-ers? lol

Just wondering if I have any tatty lovers out there? Feel free to tell about your meaningful tats...

and, in being ttc, i have found the ONE bad thing about getting pregnant... you have to stop getting tats! lol

i have a lot... but my newest is for my step-daughters. My husband copied me and got the same one... but with blonde hair and i have brown (to match each of his girls). It's the back of a skinny little girl at the top of a ladder putting up a start. she has on brown converse (as both did in our wedding in Oct), a shorter dress, and long flowing hair. The star goes along with the rest of my back tats but the tat idea in a whole is for the song (my fav is acoustic by audra mae) called "forever young" which is my song to them that i will sing when i learn it on guitar... the line is "may you build a latter to the stars, and climb on every rung, may you stay... forever young" :)

  • I have three.. None for my kids yet. The one that means the most to me is my heart with devil horns and tail. In memory of my best friend.

My tats are simple to a regular person but I love good body work so someone like myself can enjoy them.

On my wrist I have roman numerals of the date of my very close grandmother passing, and on my spine it appears to just be a treble clef but it is in fact a collage with a peace and love symbol hidden. Rep my motto that the world needs to find peace and love and those can be found and spread through music.

Lol sound a little corny, but it fits my artsy/antique personality.
  • I only have one. It's a heart surrounded by tribal flames on my bootie ... very meaningful....it means I thought I was so cool 7 year ago lol! I'm just hoping it doesn't stretch out beyond recognition and start looking like a wildfire, in a couple of months LMAO!
  • Im 19 wks pregnant and I love tatts... I have 7 but my favs are on my back in loving memory of my mother her name and on my left leg I have all my kids names in hearts with ribbons gotta get the new baby added.. Oh and my left forearm japenese kanji that says mother=love.. I plan on getting atleast 3 more once the bany is born...
  • I have a cross between my shoulder blades. I got it on my 18th bday to celebrate living to adulthood. (I have struggled with depression and suicide since early teenage years) and then around my lower back I have a bunch of wild flowers surrounding scripture of the only bible verse I truly take to heart. :x
  • @newmommy_navywife not corny at all... i'm a musician and have a plain treble clef on my foot. i think they're all great! i love roman numerals as well!! one of my next will most likely be a sankfa symbol which is an african symbol that means to learn from your past for a better future. that and some Ethiopian writing (i love africa and learning all about it). i think you've got some keepers for sure... sounds similar to my style (but i honestly can't tell you how many i have... most of my back is done lol).

@booface LMAO oh that made me giggle! thanks! -and GOOD LUCK! ;)

@mommoffive tats are such a great way to honor people, heal, and just keep memories aren't they?!?!
  • @twin_angels i love dimple piercings... so cute! good work love it!

@natashalynn that is a perfect example of why to get tats! :) thank you for sharing. (i have thought about getting joshua 1:9 "be strong and of a good courage")
  • @mrsrocketfield1221 yes mam they sure are I actually want to add more detail to my mamas name..
  • @mrsrocketfield1221 related to the other topic my husband and I also got pumpkin patch tattoos after our first was born. We each have three pumpkins. He has the scary ones on his stomach and I have happy ones on my trices. I think we will each be adding a pumpkin when baby #2 is here
  • I love my tats, I have 5. The first a cross and flowering ivy around my ancle. The cross is all swirly, had it drawn for me, the second was daisy's on my big toe, the third two dragons biting at the japanes symble for love across my lower abdomen. And though all hold meaning for me, my favorite are my last two. My sons 1st day foot print across the top of my foot like he stepped on it, and the second is my daughters handprint from when she was about 9mo, on my back shoulder like she reached around my kneck, holding onto me and left a print.. My last will by this baby.. But im not sure what yet!!

Thanks @mrsrocketfield1221 I find tattoos are pieces of art, but they're premanent art. I try to make mine either to remember where I came from (or what I came thru) or a mentality I want to remember forever. "The word of God is this: believe in the one I have sent"

I have 8 tattoos and can't wait to be able to get one for my precious baby girl. Right now I have a half sleeve on my right arm that that is of 4 habicus flowers with windbar behind them... I did this cause it just says that I am married I did 4 flowers because there are 5 pedals on each flower equalling 20 pedals... I was 20 when I was married. On the inside of my arm I have a gypsy and an anchor... the gypsy represents me and the anchor is my husband... to pull the gypsy and anchor tattoo together with the hasbicus tattoo I had a cameo broach added around the gypsy. I have brass knuckles on each collar bone that say "stay" "true".... I have a full chest piece.... that is a sacred heart that has roses on both sides then I have a quote that says "Complain that roses have thorns or rejoice that thorns have roses" this is my favorite tattoo... basically to me this just means be thankful for what u have and find the good in everything that is sent ur way... one can choose to dwell on the bad and negative but life is so much easier when u are positive. I also have two shooting stars on my lower stomach. ( these are my only tattoos I have that don't have a meaning, I got them when I was 18 and regret them... I will have them covered up when I am done having children).... I want to get one for my daughter she is due march 15th so I was thinking of doing something with a daffodil since that is her birth flower.
