My friend here is from Ethiopia so I will be safe getting the language but some of the symbols of Africa are beautiful! Do you have anywhere that you look things up like that?

I didn't want to get the Boston symbol or anything and couldn't figure out how to represent home.. a Dr Seuss pic or saying would be perfect since I don't like the state flower. LOL thanks!

My husband is planning on getting 8th tattoo soon...once im not pregnant. He is on tattoo restriction while I can't get them either. I have somewhere around 15 I think lol. But his is going to be curious George since that was the very first show our daughter watched. He first bday was today and we got her the actual movie. She was tired from her big day and totally just got sucked into that movie it was so cute.
Once my kids can write their names in crayon im doing the tommy lee thing and getting that as my tattoo of their names. Dads doing foot prints. We are planning on three kids so he will have a trail of baby feet
@lilliebug ...u so have my tat-mind LOL. I would restrict too! My hubby has each forearm for his two girls. They wrote their name on him when they got to be four and its now there permanently (it was my idea... he stole it from me LOL). Each arm represents them so on one he has a skull/crossbones with heart eyes and a pink bandana (her love for pirates) -the other had a gummibear medallion (her favorite cartoon is gummibears), each has their birth month flower, one side has a girl peanut with a princess crown and the other with devil horns, one side has a monkey with a spider on its head while the other has a monkey girl head with a spider body (they're total spider monkeys!) And a couple other things, with vines running through the entire thing that have open spaces for special dates that we can fill in for milestones. -
I have been wanting a piercing and a tattoo for the longest but looks like I have to wait til after July I have three tattoos 1st: my daughter's actual footprint with her name and DOB on my on my foot takes up my entire foot and our comes up ok the front of my ankle (fav tat) 2nd: an A and F (always and forever) connected with I heart above it and a paw print below the letters on my upper thigh that was for my ex/BD (worst tattoo ever!!!) 3rd: live love laugh in arabic on my upper back not too big but that's just how you should live life and be happy in my view
I'm addicted to i have 16 love butterflies si have a ladies colorful tribal one down my spine which is one of my faves another fave is You'll never walk alone across side of my left foot, which is what liverpool football club have has there song plus my dad was massive fan and that is what is engraved on bottom of his headstone i just can't wait till i can have another for my baby @Zbutt_Mom aww the footprint one sounds lovelyy
I have 11th tattoos and ttc, sad that I have to stop for a while but excited becus its for a good reason...one of my favorites that I have is a miscarriage awareness ribbon on my calf with two butterflies, each representing a child lost...and around it says "they gave so much to be so little but Angels always do" I've lost 2babies and it truly helped me cope I'm praying the God blesses me with a child and that I will never have to add another butterfly to it......lots of baby dust to u all!
@SamiUK if I knew how to get a pic up I'd have it up but ion know how to do it ha love it its so beautiful I wish I could get my second tat covered up right now I totally regret it I use to love him to no end but now I STRONGLY dislike his guts and just ugh!!!
Lol @Zbutt_Mom i had bitch at top of my back cos an ex use to call me it all time when we argued and hated tattoos so after major argument i had it done and he loved it!! Its now covered tho lol

I have the initials on my late sister (born prematurely) and the Chinese characters for "child" and "heaven" on my left wrist. My nickname (Ki-Ki) surrounded by stars on my lower back. My ex-fiance's last name on my right hip (don't judge me). A star design on my left hip. A star design on my right hip. Another star design on my right ribcage (each star represents one of the babies my mom lost due to miscarriage). And a Bible verse on my left ribcage.
I plan on getting my godson's footprint along with baby to be's footprint after I give birth.
I have 11 and I can't wait to get more, but the 2 that mean the most to me is the one I got in remembrance of my grandmother and a scripture from the bible James 4:10

I have 10 my main 1.i love so much is the big angel wings on my bk ...on top in a arch it says"fallen" n on da bottom in a arch it.say "angels"....in n the.wings on the.feathers it has peoples names/ day they died cuz most my family& friends our in the.army national guard , marines air forces so there my fallen angels
I'm 7 weeks pregnant and still getting tattooed. Its not bad for you. As long as you are not at high risk of infection and aren't prone to fainting. Sit short sessions and drink plenty of water. As for pain relief, opt for a spray on sun burn relief and not pills. For energy eat jelly beans or some natural jube type lollies, not caffeine!!
I lost count of my tattoos years ago and today got my right hand done. Its all swollen and junk but it made the water retention in the rest of my body go away!!
My fiancee is an artist too and he says that there is nothing wrong morally with tattooing a pregnant woman, providing that she isn't huge. So if you want tattoos while pregnant do it while you're small. If you have blood pressure problems, best to wait.
Its great to see other tattooed mommies out there! This will be mine and my fiancee's first little bundle of joy. We just bought our first bit of baby clothing today! Little fleece baby socks. My boy picked them out and everything! They're so cute

I have a quarter sleeve on my upper right arm its a dandalion and the seeds are blowin in the wind and transform into birds. I have a musical heart on my left chest. A peace sign on my outter left wrist and script writing in my outter thigh that reads "music is well said to be the speech of angels". And my husband is completely sleeved out! Tattoos are a huge part of our lives
Neither of my artists will tat or pierce me while I'm pregnant but I know they are just really cautious artiists and looking out for me and themselves. Can't wait to get a tat for this baby, and get my second lip and eyebrow pierced.
Just reading everyones designs is awesome! Only some of my tattoos have meaning and others are amazing artwork I found and fell in love with.. I will start from my feet up!
My feet have girls in big dresses with orchids for faces. One is holding a doll house and the other has men hiding under her skirt. They're by an artist called James Jean. He's amazing! My right calf has another JJ painting on it too. Its a little boy made of glass and through his while body you can see his organs, but they're made out of flowers and he's holding a hammer. His head is smashed open to let the flowers out! He is standing in front of a beehive and bees are going to the flowers. Then my thigh has 2 pieces on it that are eventually going to cover the rest of my leg. One on the side of my thigh/hip is a massive Medusa, getting gone down on in an elevator by two guys with ties tied around their eyes and holding a bottle of cristale while Medusa gives the finger. Shes super sexy... Then on the back of my thigh next to her is a baby dolls head crossed with a scull. Its a painting by an artist called Shawn Barber. He does amazing tattooed portraits. Next up is a little scull with a bow on my chest, its tiny and I got it when I was 15 and ran away from home. It was very meaningful then and still carries some meaning though the circumstances have changed. It means even in the most morbid times, it doesn't take much to create a little beauty around it. Then I have on my right arm a tank girl forearm sleeve jobbie that isn't quite done yet. Then my hand tattoo on that had which is a teacup with poison pouring into it. I just got ir done today and its amazing. Then my left arm is a full sleeve with a cartoon of my sister and I holding a single heart together. I drew that when I was 16 and got it. Thats on the outside of my shoulder. Then the inside is a massive bunch of pink roses. Further down is a big purple owl on my forearm sitting in the branches of plum blossom. Then we come to my left hand which matches my right in a way being a cupcake with a scull in the icing. Goes with the knuckles I'll be getting soon that will say DIEHAPPY, which means that I would rather do all the things I love in life than be scared to live. Hence the poison tea and cupcake.
OH I also have the start of a throat tattoo which for not is a trail of lovehearts from my ear to my shoulder.
My fiancee has way more than me though.. We've been told that our baby is going to come out with tattoos! haha
I have three tattoos. My first tattoo is a red heart with a yellow rose going through the heart with a butterfly flying above. The yellow rose represents my grandmother, the butterfly represents my grandfather and the heart represents my love for them. They both passed away. It's on the right side of my right calf. My second tattoo is on my left shoulder. It's a sorrow carrying a banner with my name. It represents me being free as a bird (free to be me). My third and most resent tattoo is on the top of my left foot. It's my daughters name (Jadyn) with a butterfly (that looks like an angel) flying above. I will plan on getting one more tattoo of my second childs name on my right foot once he/she is born.
@celestee ...i guess i haven't actually asked our tattooist bc i am still ttc (and when i had my mc i had only known i was expecting for 2 weeks)... that would be great news! lol we're slightly obsessed as well and its been killing me bc we just havent had the money, and our artist lives 2 hrs away. (i moved to a tiny town in idaho with no amazing talent that we've seen) im sure it just depends on the artist... bc they dont want to be blamed for anything... even if its safe... because people will always try! and you certainly didn't bore me at least, this is why i put up the post in the first place! i just think its fun to hear everyone's tats since its such a passion of mine. you never know when you're inspiring anyone! you've got some tats that sound great... have you ever read - High Fructose Magazine?- if not... you should, i think you'd enjoy it! It's one of my favs and i often look through it and find great tat art pieces even though it's not a tat mag.
i have lost count of my tats because they've ended up being one large back piece... just need to color in the lower half and add some detailing, but when i start my arm i'd like to use a piece by Brandi Milne (another one -celestee- might like).

I have been lucky and have friends from japan, lebanon (arabic) and africa (my ethiopian friend)... otherwise... it would be a no go! lol the sankfa is found around the internet but i wouldnt trust all symbols that's for sure!
@lyricsmommy ...funny, lyric is one of my names i have picked out if i ever have a girl very very pretty... and so aren't your tats. they remind me of myself... i also have a dandelion blowing away, musical notes, and will have many things representative of music in general, or songs bc they speak very deeply to me.

I left my tattoos up above but.. My hubby has TLA tattooed on his wedding ring finger under his ring [true love always] and to match my key he has a heart shaped padlock with skulls 'carved' onto the front, and also graffiti style '13' and Roman numerals for 8 (our wedding date 8/13) we were married on Friday the 13th he wants to get an anchor on his hand to represent being 'tied down' like I am his anchor. Those are all the ones he has to honor me and our marriage. But his body is a canvas!! So there are many many more! Once we have babies we will toss around ideas. He's already thinking a tattered Stoic female angel on his bicept. I have left room for more ribbon on my back!!
I have a few...Felix the cat on my right leg...a star on my left ankle...my sons name Aaden inside a four leaf clover on the inside of my left forearm...a pink ribbon with angel wings and halo with the words my angel on the inside of my right forearm...and the words live love burn die stretched across my collar bones...more to be added...
Both me and hubby have 2 each. Not much, but I've been way too broke to get any ink. Both of mine are home made. One is a heart on the back of my left hip (I call it my My Little Pony tattoo) and the other is the initials of a friend who killed herself when we were 16. My husband has the eye of Horus and a red ankh together on his right shoulder and a ghostly, faded vampire lady on the right side of his chest. Both of his are legit, unlike mine I'm also pierced up and planning on dyeing some of my hair blue when I get some cash. My husband isn't pierced anymore because he's had management jobs for the past 20 years. That's soon to change tho We were going to get our wedding rings tattooed on, but I got pregnant before we could afford it.
Oh yeah... i forgot to give a run down for anyone who cares, not that i think anyone truly does... but it's kinda fun to hear about peoples tats sometimes...

I'll start with my randoms before i get to the larger piece; g-clef on my left ft, for my friend who passed from cancer i got the pin that they sold for her treatments on my inner ankle of a 3 leaf clover with a heart in one leaf, and her initials in the others, i have "family" in hebrew on my left wrist to match my aunt and cousin, i have "forever and a day" with a heart on the inner side of my ring finger to match my husbands, and the tattoo of the little girl on the back of my left bicep that i wrote about earlier, i have a purple heart just below my back on the top of my bum... from when i first met my mother in law lol!, and i have Arabic "forever friends" for my best friend i've had for a very long time, we're both born on the same day/year so it has orchids around it (our zodiac flower).
From top to bottom i guess? -I have a Japanese symbol meaning "spirit" for a friend who got in a tragic car accident and it truly helped me heal after his death -on the back of my neck- -"Wish I may, wish i might" going from one shoulder to another -a heart with angel wings just under my Jap. symbol in memory of another friend lost -2 parallel butterflies on each of my shoulder blades for the 2 times in my life -as my mom puts it- that i "spread my wings" (not to mention 1. i love butterflies and 2. one of them was my very first as i went to college) -under my heart and wish i may i have 1 cream/green colored rose for my husband bc when we were dating he gave me a fake rose that looked exactly like it and said "when this rose dies, so will my love for you" -CORNY, but cute. it also represents the song and so it goes for me "...and you're the only one who knows" -i have 5 negative stars (color on the outside and not inside) blue, for my 5 grandparents. the closest to my heart being for my grandma who i never met but have a very strong bond with -a firefly that represent my cousin leah who is like a sister bc i always tell her to "shine bright" -a large blue rose down my spine for my parents -my fathers birth month flower, and my mothers favorite color -a blue swallow on one side (my husband) carrying a pocket watch (which all the men wore at our wedding) set to 4:30 (the time we got married) -a purple swallow on the other side (me) carrying a chain with a skeleton key on it (the necklace i gave to my bridesmaids which they wore for the wedding) -Believe down the rest of my spine to my bum with detailing around it incorporating stars, hearts, and musical notes -believe means a lot of things for me- -on one side of my lower back is a piece made of a couple diff things that our artist did sooooo beautifully, it's a dandilion blowing away in the wind (staying true to my self and my dreams/wishes), a gardinia (which was in my wedding bouquet), and a praying mantis within them -for my cousin tyler who is like a bro to me- ...and a bumble bee flying near that for my youngest step daughter who i call "bumble" -on the other side grouped together is a thistle (my husbands birth month flower), a dogwood flower (the nc state flower where my bro, sister in law, and 2 nephews live), a black widow in a spider web -my cousin talin who is also like a sister to me-, and a lady bug for my oldest step daughter who i call "little lady".
i will be getting the beginning of my sleeve some time... a piece by the artist Brandi Milne, some ethiopian wording, an african symbol, and a heart locket with the key to my husbands heart locket and he vice versa.... MORE TO COME!

I cant wait to get tatted an pierced again once my baby boy is here. I have 4 right now. I want about 4 more tats. But the first will b my baby boys name an bd an hand an foot print. Cant wait:)
