To all my december mums I'm proud to announce I've given birth to my beautiful daughter mackenzie 12-20-2011 at 8:58pm. She weighed 6 pounds 9 ounces and was 19 inches long :). But I have. Question. All two days in the hospital I was fine . No stuffy nose coughing anything , but literally the moment I was dicharged I began to develop a cough that was followed by phlem and cold in my throat , a stuffy nose and sometimes it hurts to cough. I'm worried about passing this cold to my little girl she is only 3 days old I don't want her to get sick , any suggestions on what I could do . And I am breast feeding as well , so any medications that wouldn't effect that would be great

  • And lay in bed with baby as much as possible for rest if you're able
  • Did you have an IV in the hospital. I developed a horrendous cough the second I got out of the hospital too. I remember they made my IV too fast and I almost drowned. (If that makes sense. I didn't know an IV could do that prior) Then I had a c section and couldn't cough after. Anyway, that's what I figured caused mine. Just cough as much as possible so you don't get pneumonia.
  • Keep hydrated!!
