Enfamil--> Safe!

Enfamil newborn powdered formula was tested and it came out negative for cronobactor (sp?)
So now they're looking at the baby's mom and doing more tests to see what really triggered the baby's death :-(

Yay, I was wondering when someone would post this. I wanted to do it myself but kept forgetting. I get that "breast is best" and I tried my hardest to breastfeed my daughter, but due to health complications, I wasn't able to. It makes me feel like a big pile of doo doo when I see women putting others down because they chose not to breastfeed. :-S

@TxMommy93011 I knew it couldnt have been the formula. They showed the bottles that she was using to feed baby and it was really disgusting.

@LilSugarsMomma Oh girl do not! Feel bad about formula feeding. You are not a bad mom! I couldnt breastfeed because of health issues as well. And im strictly formula feeding my LO. Atleast we tried. Don't let anybody tell you anything Im sure your baby is as healthy & growing well as a breastfed baby

@LolasBabyNum1 Thanks. It just makes me sad that I couldn't do what I was hellbent on doing. I just try to remember she is happy and healthy and has everything she needs, and then some, so I'm doing something right!

"Although the babies in Illinois and Oklahoma had been given infant formula, it’s not yet known whether the formula was the source of the infection, according to a CDC spokesperson. The baby in Oklahoma was not fed Enfamil, and the baby in Illinois reportedly was fed several different types of formula. The CDC reports that state health authorities are currently testing the formulas and the water they were mixed with to determine the source of the infection and to uncover any possible links between the three cases. So far, no direct connections have been found."

No, its not meant as an insult, but when you tried and because your body is out of whack and you end up unintentionally hospitalizing your newborn for nearly a week, it just stings. I agree, breast IS best, but after what I went thru, hearing it just makes me feel...well shitty. I had a doctor basically tell me my daughter got a severe case of Bronchiolitis because I couldn't breastfeed. Ughhhhh... (

I know, he was a poumpis asshole. She was like 2 and a half months old, I had been dried up for about a month and a half, and he told me I should consider doing everything in my power to produce milk again. Really?! Yeah, because its sooooo easy after you've dried up. Jerk. He made me cry and I think that's why I feel the way I do. I am not against BF, I'm envious of those who can and jealous that I couldn't, and I have a lot of guilt over something that is out of my control. It sounds dumb, and petty, but I can't get over it. Blahhhhhh.

@LilSugarsMomma don't ever feel that way it happens to the best of us my first was ff, not by choice- stupid hospital wouldn't let me bf or pump for him. This was 9 yrs ago in an area with low bf rates and I was 19 and didn't know otherwise.
