warm vs room temperature formula

edited February 2012 in First time moms
Has anyone noticed a difference? My Dr said room temperature was fine and warm would only make it harder for me. She said babies don't really mind. But when it comes to gas and colic is there a difference? Is warm better at reducing gas ?
When he was on nutramigen it could not be heated because of the enflora, but with regular formula I wonder if I should warm it.

  • I always just used room temp and never had problems.
  • My mom keeps saying she always warmed it for us but every Dr I ask says what ever they can take both fine. Ultimately its harder to get them used to warm and then they won't take it unless warm. But I'm starting to doubt it since baby has a lot of gas but he would probably have gas with warm as well. Idk
  • I love love the quick replies when I post a question, its greatly appreciated ;-)
    Thank you both

  • I use room temp and she usually doesn't have gas. Maybe its the type of formula that's giving him gas.
  • My lo wont drink room temp...never has.
  • My girl will only have it really warm. My best friends daughter will only have it cold, not room temp, but cold!
  • I do room temperature with my little man and he is fine with it. I haven't noticed any more gas than usual.
  • I have always done room temp, did not want to get him used to warm.
  • I used warm with my son an room temp this time around. No difference to me.
  • I always use warm water
  • Both of mine have taken it warm, room temp, and cold if were in a bind and out and can't get it warmed. We usually always warm it but he takes it anyway.
  • I always use warm water as well.
  • Lmao at @rileyandme..... When I was using formula I used to warm up her bottle also that was when she was a newborn. Lol, I pump now bm comes warm ;)
  • I have always made warm. Mainly because I use powder, have u ever tried mixin powder in anything but warm water lol But I also think about how before there was bm pumpin and formula, bm comes out warm so ultimately it makes sense to me.
