I'm a registered dental hygienist and I love it! Teeth make me feel all warm and fuzzy inside lol. I work 2 days a week and get to be home with my little man.
@bettymomma thats exactly what I do. My "title" is a CSS, Community Support Specialist. I currently work in a group home. My participant is 44 with downs syndrome & he has 2 roomates (they have different workers). I love my job so much. Its very rewarding to know im making a difference in his life.
I am in school right now. I have 2 quarters left and I'll have my AA finally! Woo hoo! Then I hope to be a para at an elementary school when I'm done. I am trying to find part time work until then though!
I work at Triumph Aerospace. We are a sub contracting co. for military & commercial aircraft. I am an aircraft assembler on the Black Hawk helicopter. It pays well & I enjoy it. The people I work with are like family to me but I miss my babies when I'm away
Accountant by degree/trade (independant auditor..i.e. the "fun accounting"...really just figuring out how people could be shady and going out to lunch a lot!) However, I've been a sahm/"jane-of-all-trades" since my first was born 2.5 years ago (I'm just REALLY good at making $$$/e.g. remaining a sahm.)
@sophiasmom11 A local (metro detroit) private college, Walsh, that's known as "the accounting school" for both my undergrad and mba. But, if you're just looking for a B.A., its one of the smartest/reccession-proof degrees to get (and you really don't have to be great at math...we punch all our numbers into calculators or computers).
Idk anyone who worked their degree from a strictly "online school" (not that they don't exist...i just don't know any personally). Walsh was willing to make all remaining courses available online, if someone had to move (and they were at least 1/2way toward their degree).
@sophiasmom11 also, the accounting field gets a bad rep for being "boring" (partially true, TAX-accounting IS boring). Auditing (public accounting in particular) is really cool...but internal "corporate" accounting is fun too! Especially if you're a numbers & puzzles type person (like me). Plus, regulations have changed so that getting your CPA letters is easier!!!
