breastfeeding and loestrin BC

I have been breastfeeding for almost five months and was currently on the mini pill (nor-qd). well I pretty must haven't quit bleeding since birth and the dr seems to think it's just hormonal. he changed my BC and says he think my milk supply will be fine since I have a well established one. I am just freaking out about it lowering my supply bc I have come to love breastfeeding.

I took my first pill last night and it may just be in my head but I already feel like my boobs aren't as full. ugh what should I do? I'm tired of bleeding but I don't want to stop BF. should I give the pill a lil more time or just quit?

    That's what I take. I had to stop bfing my lo as much because of different reasons but I was still pumping. Well my supply is gone now. I'm currently trying to reestablish my supply but I don't think its going to happen while I'm on this pill. The 4 days of the Brown pill that you take for your period to come on..I didn't take those and I just remember to start the new pack. Well the four days I was on those pills I was actually pumping a few drops. Started my pills back that Sunday..and BAM..couldn't get out a drop. I'm now seriously considering stopping the pill because I don't think I have any hope of reestablishing while I'm in the pill. Btw..my doc also told me my supply wouldn't be affected because I had a good supply when I started. Obviously not true!

    Your doctor is wrong. It doesn't matter how "established" you are. Lol. Any pill other than the mini pill WILL affect your supply. :(

    Is it a combination pack? Estrogen affects milk production.

    @mijita. Yes it is a combination pack but has a lower dose of estrogen than normal combos. I know that milk is effected by estrogen but he just kept sayin I would be fine sine I'm almost five months in.

    I honestly just don't trust drs anymore. I really want to stop bleeding but not at the risk of quitting BF

    Try contacting La Leche league in your area and ask them their experience with that form of bc and milk production. I would suggest that to get some peace of mind. I'm sure the stress of thinking about it all the time doesn't help either.

    I was the exact same way with the mini pill, so I can't imagine the mess you're in. I'm so sorry. Wishing you the best of luck!

    @Mijita your probably right about stressing over it. so did u bleed a lot on the mini pill...if so did u just quit BC completely or BF?

    @crystaldawn0830, I meant that I was so paranoid with losing milk production on the mini pill. I started it on the first day of my period so that I wouldn't throw my hormones completely for a loop. Thankfully I didn't have too many issues. I'm still on the mini pill, but I think I'm going to make this my last month.
