Pregnant even if i am breastfeeding and my period hasnt returned? I know bf is not a contraceptive but my son is 4 and a half months old and i still havent gotten my period which leads me to believe i havent ovulated. Me and mu husband had a birthday night celebration "oops"...now im so worried bc we werent protected.

Yes you can still get pregnant when bf even if your getting a period. Your period actually means you have ovulated but not been fertilized, so if you dont want a baby right now get yourself some bc

You don't need a period to get pregnant. Having a period is expelling an unfertilized egg. If you conceive during your cycle, you wont get a period since the egg is fertilized.

I asked the same question a while back and never got a straight answer. I know what you're trying to say "does no period = no ovulation, if you're NOT pregnant" Lol I still don't know...

Ovulation comes first then period and since your breast feeding it is keeping your body from O~ing so you dont have a period unfortunately you wont know that you o'd until your period starts back up or you get a positive hpt gl

While ovulation and a period usually go hand in hand, you can still ovulate and have no period. You can also have a period and not have ovulated during that month. So yes, you can still be ovulating and not having a period and get pregnant.
