Ya most dentists won't see a baby until they are 2-3. But I found one that would when my kids started getting teeth so that's when they should start seeing one.
My oldest went when he was 2 and they just looked, and at 3 they just looked at them again. He did not like it and didnt want to really open his mouth for them, so they just said they looked good and they would do a cleaning when he got older.
I talked with my dentist and he said 3 was perfect....I just took Kylie and she did great. They do a kids day every six months. It was disney themed and everyone dresses up. Kylie went it costume and she loved it
@Aishamusa they advise a checkup every year to make sure that everything is developing properly. Saying that, I wont be taking my daughter until she has her full set. I started Josh when he was 2, but here its free so maybe the guidance is different.
I work for a pediatric dentist and we recommend that you bring them in by first tooth or first birthday. Mostly the first visit is just a quick check and lots of show and tell. Then around 2-3 the kids are ready to get in the chair and let us clean their teeth. I really recommend finding a good pediatric dentist in your area and taking your kiddos there. General dentists don't always know how to handle small children.
