Spitting up at 5 months...

edited April 2012 in Babies Health
My daughter is 5.5 months. I've never really had a problem with her spitting up. She use to do it ever now and then but that's it. The past few days she has been spitting up constantly. I'm still burping her so Idk what it could be. Should I be concerned or is this normal?

  • @homebirthadvocate no not really. She is eating solids twice a day and has been for a few weeks now. And drinking 30-32oz of formula a day.

Could it be because she likes her milk warm and its hot outside. Like when an adult has milk on a hot day?

  • @homebirthadvocate yea its not much. She just does it a lot. Like she just spit up 3 times since 2 and its now 3:30. I just needed some reassurance that it wasn't anything to worry about. Thank you.
  • @sophiasmom11 she's been teething for 2 months now.
  • Weird! Same exact thing with my 5.5 month old! Two substantial spitups today from a breastfed baby who rarely has an issue at all....I was starting to worry too.
  • @sophiasmom I Dnt feel any teeth coming through yet so idk.

@ourlittlenugget my lo almost never spits up. If she does it make be once a day and that's normally only if she doesnt burp. Today she spit up like 4 times. And I made sure she burped.
  • my lil guys been spitting up a lil bit too and hes 7 months now but hes also teething so i think thats probley why he's spitting up :/
  • Wow I wish I was as lucky as you guys... my two boys have always been big spit upers haha. Guaranteed to spit up atleast three big ones after each feeding even while sitting up... it makes for a lot of laundry and stinky carpet. Even tried different formulas but the doc said it wasnt a problems since they are growing and happy. Even my now three year old can very easily make himself throw up.
  • My baby spit up a lot till I started adding a lil more cereal to her bottles now she rarely ever spits up anymore
