Hairdressers help me! Dye probs maybe hormones?

Can anyone he lp me with a hairdye question. I am a bottle blonde but as since giving birth the new hair growth just goes brassy gingery and the older hair gets lighter and lighter, presume hormones are preventing dye taking properly? Can I do any thing or not? If I go light brown will it even things out or still look two colours? Any ideas welcome it loojs bad in bright lights!

  • Are you leaving color on the same amount of time? Usia If I were you I would only do the roots and the for the last 3 minutes rub it around on the rest of your hair.
  • Usia = smart phone making up a word
Brassy usually means it hasn't been on long enough
  • I've been having issues with hair color since being pregnant and after. During pregnancy my hair refused to gold color eventually gave up and just dyed it myself brown, it came out all patchy. So just giving up for now and will get it professionally dyed in another couple months. Hopefully my hormones will have evened out.
  • Thanks guys @mommyfor3 yeah one I used yesterday said if ends were lighter then to put all on at once, last one I did roots first then rest, its so annoying, looks awful this morning and its,my bday :(
  • Are you just using a box color?
  • I would get it professionally done :)
  • Thanks bexiewexie :)

@starrxoxo9 yes just a box colour, cant afford hairdresser at the moment unfortunately :(
  • Well maybe you can try buying the color and developer separately from a beauty supply store. Box dye is very unpredictable. What color is your hair naturally? Like on a scale of 1-10, 1 being black, 10 being almost white, how would you rate your natural color?
  • Id say maybe 4 its mousey and I am very pale! @starrxoxo9 :)
  • Ok that's pretty dark, so most box colors won't lift your hair enough and you end up orange or brassy. Do you have a beauty supply store near you? If you do they can help you find a high lift blonde for your level. And like @bexiewexie said, you'll need a higher developer, like 30 or 40 volume.
  • Oh and don't put it all over your head. Put it only on your roots and overlap it into the brass parts.
  • If you can post a pic of your hair I can tell you exactly what to buy :)
  • @starrxoxo9 thanks for your help, I cant post a pic as my phone is rubbish and laptop broken :( my hair normally hoes nice and blonde, gwen stefaniesque but just wont shift this now tho does look a bit better after a couple of washes and I have some blue shampoo that says it removes brassy tones so will try that while my hair resys :)
  • Yea that shampoo will definitely help. Next time just try using something especially for darker hair. It will be stronger :)
  • Thanks @starrxoxo9 we dont have any specialist stores here either so will hppefully get better with a stronger one next time, cheers :)
