  • Sorry to hear that @mom2ing my mom never fought for me and I had to be picked up at a police station at 9 months -.-
  • @bexiewexie thanks Hun, I definitely have learned how NOT to parent. The past was hard for me but I've learned and have grown into the person I am today.
@mom2ing wow, you are a strong woman to have read all that and be who you are today. I silently follow your posts and admire the things you say and stand for.
  • I have no family either. Just my father.
  • I basically have very little to do with my family as my sperm donor father left when I was 2 lol and rest of the family pretty much disowned me when I joined the police force. It doesn't worry me too much but has left me second guessing myself a lot as a father sometimes. My daughter is 7yrd old and hasn't told me she hates me yet so I think I'm doing OK lol. My wife's family are OK most of the time but I am to independent to normally ask or admit I need help lol.
  • I cut my mother and stepfather out of my life. They were abusive and later manipulative. I talk to my sister regularly and my brother when he wants money. My father and I talk once in a blue moon but I haven't been in the same room with him in 10 yrs. My hubs family is all I have.
  • im so sorry for you girls :(
  • I barely have anyone outside my husband and kids too. My in laws are horrible, my mother is a lying manipulating woman. My siblings follow my mom of course. I have my step dad but he lives in az and I'm in Oregon.
I could never treat my kids that way. I raise them differently than I was raised
  • I never had my dad n my life. My mom left him so he was always with the broken promises. Now that he's old he wants to b around. Which bothers me my family is more with my hubby's family that's all I know more. I had a bad child Hood my mom was a drunk would beat us I always told my self never well end up like her. Wat I believe me And my siblings we're just a check for her to survive cause I never seen new clothes. I remember I had a job at the age of 10 my mom would tell me if u want to go play with ur friends u have to buy me a Beer. That lady was evil I guess some of use been threw a lot
  • @mom2ing yes it's very nice to have someone who understands, I wish my hubby understood what I've been through but he never will, which is a good thing I wouldn't want anyone to deal with the pain that comes with it. Feel free to message me or anything since I can relate. ;)
@captivated Do you ever feel a void there?
@dadof2n1togo I'm sorry about your family but i'm sure you make your children proud, your a hero!
@outlaw_sphinx I can relate with you a great deal, I have 7 brothers and sisters which I never see. (none from the same father) I'm the oldest so when someone contacts me it's usually for money ;( My mom is manipulative, sometimes it causes a rift in my marriage but i'm slowly learning how to cut her out of my life ,as sad as it makes me.
@mommylovessparkle Thanks hun, I don't think we would be the great people that we are if we didn't have some type of trial in our lives...;D
@bahamamama4828 good for you! People like that teach us how NOT to be, which makes us GREAT mothers!
@ Roxy im sorry you had a family like that no one deserves tha, in the end we will come out on top because we will be NOTHING like our parents.1

I'm very grateful some of you had shared some of your stories with me.
  • My mom and i were very close until I was about 3 months prego. My father and i were fighting and she just cut all ties with me. We did not speak again until after my c-section. That was only to make sure I was still kicking. The way I see it she couldn't get off her butt to come to the hospital then she didn't need to know. My husband ended up sending her a pic even though I told him to ignore her.
  • I agree my parents taught me what not to do! I have my dad who is still a server alcoholic, my drug addict sister and my successful sister but she lives in Cali (I'm in mass)
