help...any ideas

My lo is turning one in a couple months (November to be exact) n I have the slightest clue what to do for her bday. I wanted to higher an event planner but I thought about, she's not gonna remember this day. I still want everything to be nice though. Any good ideas for a first birthday? What did u do n how much did it cost?

  • My sons had a chuckie cheese party an for my daughter we had a bbq at the park yea they dont really remember an my kids wasnt in to any of it so we went simple
  • We are doing a circus theme, with out the clowns! I spent months on pinterest just searching boy birthday themes...I would start there!
  • @mrz_jackson I would do chuckie cheese if the ones here weren't so ghetto. It's like a club in there. The moms r half dressed. It's a mess, lol.

@ashley_smashley I was thinking about a BBQ too. That's a good idea. I found this slight where I could customize plates n a birthday banner with her pic on it but it came up to 300 something for everything I wanted, lol. So, idk.
  • Was it Birthday Express? Thats the websitr we are using. We are doing Dora the Explorer becausr thats her favorite show.

@mimii36 I not sure. I might have been. My mom got a magazine with party ideas n it had the website in it. I think I wanna do hello kitty bc she has this hello kitty she absolutely loves. R u having it at ur house?
  • We are BBQ as well! Do you have a party city where you live? Bc you can customize banners there, and I don't think they are that expensive!
  • Party city also has lots of hello kitty stuff!
  • @ashley_smashley yeah we have one here. Thanks! Idk y I didn't think about party city. What kind of games should I have besides pin the tail on the donkey?
  • I am doing a guess how many jelly beans are in the jar game. There is going to be mostly adults so I am offering a Starbucks gift card, but if you have lots of kids you can do just a cheaply toy.

  • @gatorbob lol yeah u wouldn't catch me taking my lo one there. It's bad....especially the one in west Ashley, lol. I'm going to look at party city this weekend just to get an idea. Which one did u see the hello kitty stuff? N ur lo is going to have a nice bday. I love the zoo. When's Jasper's bday?
  • @asley_smashley that's a good idea. After sitting here thinking I might do a story book theme n have everyone dress up or maybe do an 80's theme n have the kids do ty dye shirts n dress up. Idk I'm so confused, lol.
  • You could do a cookie decorating party! All the kids could have their own apron, and you can have lots of different toppings! Although tye dye would be fun to!
  • That sounds even better, lol. Or maybe a red carpet theme n I guess we could still do the cookie idea? @ashley_smashley
  • The cookie thing could just be extra fun! A red carpet dress up party sounds like do much fun!
  • And you could take pics of each dressed up guest and put them all in an album for her to see when she is older!
  • They don't remember, but we do. Take lots of pictures so they know. I think its good to do it big either way that's just me though. I thought The same at first small, what the heck why not go all out once a year till they're too cool lol:) sorry no ideas though I had to get help as well never planned a party before! I'm doing animal print, with a just a big party, prizes good food, big cake, cup cakes. Can't think of more
  • We are just having a small party with close friends and family. We are doing a phineas and ferb theme because its her favorite show..and I wanna make a Perry the platepus cake lol. We won't be doing games, but will have gift bags for the kids to take home. We are just doing simple foods, like meatballs, veggies, fruit, etc.
  • We did a BBQ. It was yo gabba gabba theme. I got a lot of cute ideas on pinterest. Made the cakes and cupcakes myself. It was so cute and coat a couple hundred. If you can id go to sams club and get food if you expect a lot of people.
  • @ashley_smashley I'm really leaning to the red carpet theme n yes the cookie idea is here to stay, lol. @firsttimemom yeah that's true n I'm def gonna take a bunch of pics @ezrasmommy do u have a pic of the cake u made n yes I will be in sams club, lol. @trixiesmom8 when u make that cake u gotta post a pic n tag me in it, lol
  • Lol ok I will her bday isn't until November so it'll be a while.
  • I decided mermaid theme/ under the sea.. I change my mind like crazy!
Like the red carpet theme, that's fun! An a excuse to dress up!
  • @nameless lol I change mine like crazy too
  • Lol if I could do it all over I would do chuckie cheese I spent like 4 or 5 hundred dollars maybe even more not including his outfits n shoes smh on food, games, prizes, decorations n party favors and my baby cried most of the time n my decorations were skimpy lol a party planner might be a good idea if you doing like a house party because I was trying to figure out where my money went n most was at party city and some of the stuff I got there I could have gotten from the dollar store for cheaper like colored plastic forks n spoons so shop around.
  • Depending on the weather where you live I would suggest a bounce house kids love those things!
