Babies first vaccines....?

edited September 2012 in Babies Health
My daughter is due for her's within a month and they told me that they do it in 3 shot and one taken orally (by mouth). Which that terrified me a little cause one of the pediatricians said they mix them into 3 shots...

Well my question is has anyone that has given their babies all the shots neccassary in the beginning. Did the baby get sick afterwords from the vaccines and how severe was it?

What should I prepare myself for?

  • Every set of shots my daughter has had she has gotten a little fever after, nothing huge we just give her some tylenol the first day as directed on the bottle and she is fine. She also is usually pretty mellow the day she gets them but by the next day she is fine.
  • Kaylee didn't have any issues after her first set of shots but every baby is different. She was a little fussy though. Everyone has their different opinions about vaccines so do your research and decide what you think is best for your lo! ;-)
  • @Tootie08 Oh of course just wanted peoples opinnions :)
  • My daughter was tired after her first set.. but thats really the onlt effect.
  • Jack has always been fine after his shots. I give him a dose of Tylenol or ibuprofen before we leave for the dr. the most he's ever been is sleepy from them

@1stWoodsBaby and congrats on the newborn sorry i'm responding so late. How is he?
  • Tylenol is not really needed unless your baby runs a fever. Your body temp increaes to fight off the disease. It is up to you of course but waiting to see if she even needs the tylenol imo is ur best bet. I give a dose right b4 bed just to make lo sleep better. By morning he is back to normal.
  • I recommend watching The Greater Good. Great information from both sides and firsthand stories of vaccine injured children showing what the side effects can cause :)
  • Oh thank you! He's doing good. A totally different baby than his sister was. It's true, every baby is different.
  • @char the Tylenol is not just for fever but also for pain. My kids Dr recommends giving them a dose before, for pain.

My daughter has all of gets from when she was newborn and she never for sick she would get little tired after. But I was told to give little Tylenol before the appointment so she wouldn't have the symptoms. She's always done well with them. But I'm sure every baby is different and u have to do what is right for you. :) good luck!
And my daughter has always said way @sands3 said. It's not just for fever but u can look into it.

It is full of tons of facts, hence why it is such a popular video. The children in the video are vax injured in which was proven. Of course serious side effects like that are rare, but to think they don't happen is not correct. It states these side effects directly in the vax packets because they happened during studies.
  • You should keep in mind that if a persons child has had a reaction to a vaccine, and they have taken injury money from the government, then they are legally bound from talking about the incident. You really need to do your own research from both sides.

  • More people die from the flu shot than die from the flu according to VAERS. Just random info. Aisha, you just do what you feel is best for your LO. I don't think there is a right or wrong decision. Vaccine injuries do happen. It is up to each of us as mothers to decide what benefits outweigh the risks for us :)

Well im not saying people should talk about their childs injury stories to vaccinations i'm only saying what kinda of side effects can come from the vaccines that are all taken at once and what should i expect? as a question...@ashley_smashley
  • @Mom2ING I'm not trying to add on to your bad mood I was only curious about this so that's why I asked. Afterall, I'm more likely gonna get the truth from mothers that have kids then some randoms sites that could have people on there that may not even have kids or know anything about the topic. Sorry if I irritated you...
  • I vaxed all of my 3 oldest children & they basically had what everyone talked about...fever, soreness, tired, etc. But now that they are 15, 16 & 20 I can tell you that I know without a doubt they've had long term negative side affects. I know this because I did not vax my 6 youngest children so I've got them to compare. Almost like I did my own clinical trial. (not on purpose)

I guess I'm just saying you have to look at the long term affects too, not just the temporary side affects.
  • @Wilsomom Oh wow yeah deffinitely wanna do that now...
  • Read the inserts. Only 2 have been tested..
  • @wilsomom just curious but what have the side effects been?

And the only problem my daughter had with her very first shots was major soreness. My dr told me to move her legs as much as possible but I didn't as much as I could have and it hurt every time she moved them
  • @aishamusa the vax inserts. Text me when ya get the chance :)

  • @sands3 My doctor says only if temp goes over 100. It my also be a pain reliever but it will keep his body temp from rising to fight the injections. Its is a matter of opinion but everyone I talk to (including the health department) told me not to unless he developed a fever.
