Not trying to be funny..

It looks like his toenail is growing into his skin. The tip of his toe is really red, there's crusty yellow stuff on it, and he doesn't want me to touch it. Anyone know what might be wrong with it and if it is growing into his skin what they might do to fix it?

Maybe an ingrown nail. I guess they would clip it out. I don't know

Sounds like an ingrown toenail...when my husband had one they cut it out and removed half the nail and he was on antibiotics. Hope he feels better!

Sounds ingrown. When my hubs had one they had to numb it then cut it out.

My brother had a bad ingrown one and had to go to the doc. They numbed it and cut it out. He couldn't feel it at all and read a book during it lol

Poor baby i have to agree with the rest. ingrown toe nail. You should get it checked before it gets worst and more painful

Doctor said it was infected and gave antibiotics to bring the swelling down, then we'll have to go back and see how badly its ingrown to determine what has to be done next. Apparently he just doesn't like his feet being touched and that's why he wouldn't let me.. the doctor touched them and pushed on them and Max didn't even whimper. So I'm glad he's not in terrible pain, and I'm glad I didn't put it off any longer than I did because the infection would have spread..

@sands3 my bil told my husband that at this age they can't even numb it when they clip it.. but I don't understand why they couldn't.. they numb weewees when they get clipped..

They should be able to do a local... Many babies go through surgery after birth and they all have pain meds...

@lilbit01_209 that's what I thought! Idk what he's talking about.. he's usually not wrong about stuff like this, but this time I think he missed the bucket..

@sophiasmom11 would it be okay to put it in his bath? Idk what other way I'd get just his feet to soak.

@heyitsme he's only 7weeks old, so he can't exactly sit just yet, Lol. But if all else fails I can hold him over it for a few minutes!

@sophiasmom11 what is the Epsom salt supposes to do? Soften his toenails or help with the infection? Probably should have asked that earlier....
